1. A highly authentic account of a life growing up in rural Timor, followed by a move to the capital Dili, thence to Portugal. This book offers some unique insights which, to the best of my knowledge, are not available anywhere else. It is a privilege to be writing this review on the first day of Timor's birth as an independent nation, after being subject to domination by invading forces for the last 450 years.

1. I enjoyed reading this book very much, there is a richness and quality that is sincere. The family came to life in a humerous and sad way, but throughout there was the spirit of God guiding them. One of those books that you don't want to put down until you have read it from cover to cover!



2. This book is easy yet interesting reading for all ages. The events dipicted about the South are very true to life. The personalities come to life and cause one to feel a part of the activities. It tells of an interesting mix of events that are both funny and sad. The people are vivid and easy to indentify. Underneath the different stories and historical events remains an unusual spiritual conviction that is a feeling rather than a written statement. All in all an entertaining and meaningful book.

1. You can feel the wisdom of Dr. Logan. His experiences, through the narrator's interpretation, provides the listener's mind with an imagination of a time when entertainment was an important part of American culture.



2. Dr. Logan has brought to light what many people did not know about a mid-size city in Ohio named Dayton and the legends in music that have changed american culture.



3. This is the spoken word from the book with the same title. I liked the book, so of course, I enjoyed the CD set immensely.



4. The author has shared with us his very interesting life. It made the book one I had to read to the very end.

1. I really thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is full of wisdom that we all could attach to our lives. Life lessons are something all of us deal with daily. Mr. Vaughn has shared his with us in a sincere way that captures the readers attention. I think everybody could take some piece of knowledge from this book and share it with others in good faith. I know I personally will use the lessons and pieces of wisdom to better my life. Mr. Vaughn has definitely left a piece of history for his grandchildren and wonderful lessons of life for all others who read his enchanting book.



2. The author did an excellent job in ascertaining lessons in living or principles of life that are worthy of emulation by anyone,young or old. I found the book easy to read and I especially enjoyed the short stories that are humerous yet packed with provoking thoughts.

   I commend the author for giving all profits from the publication to the Boys & Girls Clubs in America. That is also a lesson in living.
