1 comments about Simple & Stylish Patterns for 18-Inch Dolls' Clothing (Creative Crafters).
- These seem to be for the American Girls dolls for the 1950's and 1960's...not so much for "modern" clothes.

1 comments about Paris Collection: French Doll Fashions & Accessories.
- As a novice french fashion doll collector, I found this book to be very helpful. I learned about the different types of fashion dolls and what to look for before I buy one. It also gives great detail on the dolls accessories, especially their dresses. I also like the fact that this book contains patterns of original french fashion gowns so you could make your own reproduction of the real thing.

4 comments about Collector's Encyclopedia Of Barbie Doll Exclusives: Identification & Values 1972-2004 (Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Exclusives and More).
- Excellent Reference Book for Modern Barbie Doll Collectors.
- What an excellent resource. We had three generations reading every page about their favorite Barbies and we all learned so much.
- The Collector's Encyclopedia Of Barbie Doll Exclusives is a great reference to the value of different types of Barbies. I was a little dissapointed that the Holiday Barbies and Bob Mackie Barbies are not listed in the book but I was pleased, otherwise. I would recommend this book.
- Having read the other collector's encyclopedia's written by this author, this one is also a beautiful collection of the Barbie doll's one may want to know about and/or collect. The pictures are well done and the descriptions very clear and understandable. At a book store, before even my first purchase of these books, I skimmed other books stating they had what I was looking for, but none compared to Michael J. Augustyniak's. Through his books, I have been able to purchase Barbies at what I know is a fair and good price for my own collection. Very good resource book. Highly recommended.

1 comments about Hopi Kachinas: The Complete Guide to Collecting Kachina Dolls.
- This is the perfect place to begin to learn about Kachina dolls. Whether you are a novice or an experienced collector, this guide will be of great help. The detailed descriptions and information are a must for any collector. For those planning to buy a kachina doll, I highly recommend THE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN ARTIST DIRECTORY. It will enable you to find the kachina carver you are looking for. When you find a kachina you like in one of the Jacka or other fine Southwest Indian art books, check the name and then find it in the directory - along with mailing address and phone # ! Call the artist directly, make an appointment, take along your COMPLETE GUIDE TO COLLECTING KACHINA DOLLS and have a great time!

5 comments about Tomart's Price Guide to Tin Litho Doll Houses and Plastic Doll House Furniture.
- I was very satisfied with Amazon. My book was packaged extremely well so that the pages wouldn't get messed up. I was surprised at how fast I received it too.
- Great reference book for collector of 40's and 50's plastic doll house furniture. Copyright in 1997 makes pricing guide a tad out of date . . . nevertheless a good starting reference price range. Great photos. Interesting information on producing companies.
- This is a wonderful reference quide for baby boomers who want to collect dollhouses and furniture! What great memories this book brought back. I found doll houses and furniture I once had and some of the models my cousins and friends had in the 1950's! This is a trip down memory lane and the price is great for this publication. Amazon delivers quickly, too!
- I purchased three books on tin toys and dollhouses, and this one was the best by far to help me evaluate some tin/metal doll houses I was buying.
The book sections are by the doll house maker, with excellent photographs that help identify them, and estimated years that they were sold. In addition there are photographs of the furniture that you would typically find in these houses. This helps alot if you have just purchased an empty doll house, and you want to furnish it with vintage items of the correct size and type. Simply an excellent reference book for tin doll house collectors or just old-timers wanting a bit of nostalgia :)
- Mary Brett has written the Bibile of Tin Litho houses. Excellent pictures of the houses detail their interiors, exteriors and the furniture needed to make them cosy little homes. All major producers are covered, Marx, Cohn, Wolverine to mention just a few. Ms. Brett also includes a section on the more unusual items, such as the rare and unique Friendly Folks Motel. Better buy two copies, this book is destined to become dog-earred and worn before very long.

3 comments about Dolls And Accessories of the 1950s (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- A profusely illustrated title, loaded with information on dolls, their clothing, and all the accutrements necessary for their comfort and care, is an absolute "must-have" for any doll lover, of any age. Whether simply browsing for pleasure, or seriously researching, Dolls And Accessories of the 1950's, makes a grand bedside, coffee table, or studio desk, library addition.
- This is a wonderful book about the fabulous dolls and accessories of the 1950s. It has lots of photos and complete descriptions and something for everyone. It is comprehensive and a "must" for collectors of this era- perfect for research or simply enjoyment and a trip down memory lane. Well done! Keep the books coming!
- I bought this book to match the clothes that I buy at garage sales and auctions to the dolls that I own and to make sure that any dolls I'm considering are dressed in their original clothes, and I was not dissapointed. With over 500 color pictures and pictures of whole catalogue pages I have found this book to be the best in my library.Value guides are given in the description paragraph not forcing the reader to turn to a back page and search for a corresponding plate number, which I personally find annoying.I would highly recommend this book to any collector of 50' dolls.

5 comments about The Barbie Doll Years: A Comprehensive Listing & Value Guide of Dolls & Accessories (Barbie Doll Years).
- This book is exactly what it says - a comprehensive review and has an amazing amount of information. This book is perfect for those collectors who still have the doll or product with the original packaging and want an approximate value of that doll or product. The dolls/products are listed by the "title" of the product, i.e. Millenium Bride. What it does not have is alot of pictures.
If you are trying to find out what a particular doll is and/or the value - and all you have is the doll - this is not the best book for the task.
- I love this book, I buy the updated version everytime it comes out. Easy listings so that I can keep track of the value of my collection
- I read the other reviews of this book, and it sounded like it was a good bet. What the other reviews DIDN'T say is that this book is only for those who have New In The Box items! For the average collector who finds dolls in antique malls and garage sales, this is worthless. It only prices items that are unopened in original boxes - perfect mint condition! There are no prices for any other condition level. Also there are virtually NO pictures, making it impossible to use to identify various models . Several reviewers made a big point of there being 50 pages of pictures(actually in the 5th edition it's only 29 pages, 3-6 photos per page, most are of only a single item). Only a handful of Barbies are pictured, with the rest of the pictures being other special items. So if you have one of those typical dolls found in a sale that doesn't have a box with a model number, good luck trying to figure out what you have. This book is worthless for trying to identify which Barbie you are holding, and there is no information at all in the book about identifying the knock-off copies of Barbie on the market. It is strictly a price list by year or model number, with no other information of any kind. If everything you have has boxes with model numbers, the other reviews are right - it's a good book with a VERY comprehensive listing - over 9,000 different items (see why 100 photos is no big deal?!). But if your Barbies are unidentified and in less than store shelf condition, forget it. This book is, a waste of time and money.
- This book has a couple of pictures in the front. And the rest are complete and extense lists (vintage & modern dolls and accesories). But the prices are usually not accurate. And to be honest there is no actual good price list to apply to the second market barbie. You pay what you want and can afford. So, it is completely useless to have this book, since 1- It only contains names (no pictures) so it is hard to identify something unless it is NRFB - (in which case you don't need to because it says what it is on the box). 2- The prices are unrealistic.
- I had a huge box of Barbies from various years. This book helped to identify them. I also recommend a fun read about dolls, Dolls Aren't Just for Kids.

3 comments about Make Doll Shoes! Workbook II (Make Doll Shoes).
- I've used this (paperback) book to make shoes for an American Girl doll plus a couple of others. It's a nice book for basic patterns and is easy to follow for novices, like myself. A handy reference book for those who go on to greater things.
- Doll Shoes Workbook II gives directions that I can understand and it is a guide to materials. I only wish I had seen that there was a Workbook I that preceded it.
- The instructions are clear and easy to be follow. It was not difficult to adjust the boot's pattern to fit my 18" Kewipe doll under the directions. I used PVC fabric to instead leather, the effect was also great. If you want to dress your beloved dolls more perfectly, this book is a necessary reference for you.
