5 comments about The Tyler Wentworth Fifth Anniversary Album.
- I have just recently begun collecting these dolls and their clothes. I love miniatures and the detail that goes into them when they are done to scale, use quality materials, and there is attention to detail. This doll has all that. I have Barbie dolls from my childhood and the first clothes offered for that doll had style and quality --- the later clothing line didn't come close. Mattel now makes a Silkstone line of Barbies for collectors that has that quality back.
Tonner Doll Company has had the quality in the doll and clothes since it's inception. The doll and clothes are to die for. Such detail in material, buttons, zippers, lining, etc., makes for beautiful clothes for the doll. And it all goes with the doll's story line - The House of Wentworth - a fashion designer company. I now have three Tyler Wentworth dolls (blonde, brunette, and red head), Tyler's sister Marley, Tyler's boyfriend Matt O'Neill, and a Sydney Chase doll (of the Chase Modeling Agency).
This book explained the doll's story well, introduces you to her friends & associates and displays the doll's clothes beautifully. I truly enjoyed this book!
I enjoy collecting these dolls and displaying them in their different outfits. I highly recommend this book (and "The Robert Tonner Story" book) to all Fashion Doll collectors and especially for Tonner Doll Co. doll collectors too! Enjoy!
- This is a wonderful coffee table book loaded with great photos of Tyler, and her story. I love creating outfits, and having a fashion book filled with creative, gorgeous outfits that work is stimulating. Plus, sharing the book with my little friend who just loves to look at the dolls and clothes is a treat.
- I don't collect Tyler Wentworth dolls but still loved the book. Lots of good pictures.
- I find this book indispensible when trolling eBay for Tyler and family outfits and accessories. There are wonderful detail pictures of the outfits and dolls and special editions. The pictures show you what should have come with the doll or outfit originally. It provides edition sizes too and has saved me money by preventing me from bidding on partial outfits or dolls that are incomplete or have been modified. I have worn this hardback just about limp but it has such a strong binding and good quality paper that it is still stout. I wish Tonner would do a similar book for the Brenda Starr series when she has her 5th anniversary with Tonner.
- As a collector of Robert Tonner dolls, this book is a must have as a wonderful reference and history of his dolls. Photographs are gorgeous and wonderful details. I highly recommend this book and Amazon has a wonderful deal on it. This book is first class just like the Robert Tonner doll company!!! A++++++++++

5 comments about Liddle Kiddles.
- This book is still the best way to identify dolls and accessories. Wonderful pictures by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable collector. If you need to learn about Mattle Liddle Kiddles, you need this book.
- Ms. Langford has created a truly wonderful collector's book. The identification and information on each Kiddle doll is comprehensive and indispensable for valuation. Visually, it is a delight just to thumb through page after page of colour photos; a walk down memory lane at it's finest. Other 60's dolls with similar appeal are featured as well. Obviously, I can't say enough about this book.
- Ms. Langford has provided kiddle collectors with an invaluable tool for kiddle lovers and nostalgic doll lovers in general. This book provides the most complete coverage of all the kiddle dolls produced by Mattel during the 1960-1970s, and also provides information on other kiddle-related merchandise that was manufactured, such as lunchboxes, play houses, gift sets, and jewerly. It is jam crammed with excellent color photographs of each and every item, and even includes copies of those nostalgic pages out of the Sears Wishbook! This is a MUST for any kiddle lover. Now stop reading this review and BUY IT TODAY!!!
- I have had Liddle Kiddles carefully packed away for 30 years. Whenever I asked people if they remember them, they said no . . . now I know I was just asking the wrong people!
Much to my astonishment, I found Liddle Kiddles on an auction website, which led to a high recommendation of this book. I simply cannot believe the thoroughness of the information, the amazing number of photographs, and the easy-to-read layout. This book would have been worth twice the price, no kidding. I found out all of my Kiddles have names -- something I wasn't aware of. It also reminded me of ones that have long since been gone, and the nostalgia tour made me long for them, but in a happy memory sort of way. Thank you to Ms. Langford for an outstanding effort, obviously a "labor of love." What a smile she brought to my face as I found out that I am definitely NOT the only one who remembers Liddle Kiddles!
- An excellent source for the identification of Liddle Kiddle dolls and all the accessories. Paris has written THE book as far as Kiddles are concerned. I have two and am going to buy a third--this book is invaluable to me.

2 comments about Insider's Guide to China Doll Collecting: Buying, Selling & Collecting Tips (Insider's Guide Series).
- Jan Foulke knows her dolls and provides interesting information about chinas. A great variety of chinas are presented, broken down by decades, from 1840's through 1930's. Photos provide side-views of fancy china heads for comparison of hairstyles. Basic information about manufacture, characteristics to look for when collecting and things to watch out for. A section is devoted to frozen charlottes. She also mentions Clear dolls and Ruth Gibbs dolls. Most photos are close-ups of the face/head, not full-view with clothing for those who are looking for costuming ideas. The only complaint is that the book is just too short!! Nice basic beginner book for the new china doll enthusiast.
- What a wonderful book! Jan Foulke has outdone herself in this guide to china dolls. As a collector who is just tip-toeing into the world of these beautiful dolls, I was delighted to come across this helpful book. Ms. Foulke's book is filled with loads of details on identifying and dating your chinas, as well the most incredible photographs. The close-ups and comparisons of hairstyles of the various periods are invaluable to the new as well as the experienced collector. Having collected antique dolls for over 20 years, I was very familiar with the basics of china doll collecting. This book however, educates the collector in the fine art of collecting the china doll. If you don't absolutely love these dolls when you open the book, you will definitely want at least one for your collection by the time you finish!

5 comments about Madame Alexander 2007 Collector's Dolls Price Guide (Madame Alexander Collector's Dolls Price Guide).
- This book was very helpful in pricing several dolls that I was interested in buying. Without this resource, I would have paid too much.
- I got this for my daughter who collects dolls, especially Madame Alexander dolls. She uses the book frequently and likes it very much.
I recommend it although it doesn't have every doll made by Madame Alexander.
- Linda Crowsey's MADAME ALEXANDER: 2007 COLLECTOR'S DOLLS PRICE GUIDE #32 is an updated collector's price guide no Madame Alexander doll collector should miss. It packs in an A-Z listing of the dolls and their latest values, and while it includes some small color photos, its value lies in the latest updated prices collectors need to make informed buying and selling decisions.
- I was hoping for more pics of antique Madame Alexander Dolls, but it is good information.
- This is by far always one of the best reference books around for Madame Alexander Doll Collectors. It gives you a great guideline for what your dolls are worth as well as exquisite photos of dolls that you may never have the opportunity to own or even see in person. I will be a yearly buyer for as long as they keep puplishing!

5 comments about Collectible Gi Joe: An Official Guide to His Action-Packed World.
- I cannot praise this book highly enough. While I have most of the other G.I. Joe books, this is without a doubt my favorite. The pictures and level of care and detail are so perfect that they are the next best thing to owning the toys themselves. It's also a great reference tool for collecting and posing your own finds. I take it out and look at it constantly.
Most of us will never have the time or money to put together a collection like this, but we can enjoy the fruits of the author's work via this amazing book. If you love G.I. Joe, even just a little, by all means BUY this book. For those of us who dreamed and longed for the pictures we saw in the old Sears "Wish book" catalogs, here is the dream!
- This book has a lot of great photos, mostly in color. The information is pretty good, but there are some areas that seem to have gaps in the narrative. I also would have liked more in-depth information relating to Hasbro instead of mostly the kind of information that you can get from a list. The book tells you when everything was released, what year, who did what, etc. But it lacks any human warmth, and there are really no warm stories of the original creators sitting together and working on GI Joe. Sadly, most of the GI Joe books totally ignore the human factor, aside from giving credit to the names of the people who designed, invented, patented, painted, funded, etc. The book is great for photos, and lots of interesting information. Sadly, it is not a warm, fuzzy book about a children's toy!
- Plenty of useful and interesting information here, but the real appeal is the generous collection of photographs of vintage Joes and equipment in their natural element : on bivouac, at sea, ready to roll. These are the kind of set-ups that used to make me salivate as a kid and it's fun to revisit via this book.
- I bought this book as a gift for my husband, who recently began collecting GI Joes. He was very pleased with the book and you can frequently find him browsing it, especially after he receives his catalogs/magazines.
- I bought this book to help me prepare to sell off a number of GI Joe items on eBay. My plan was to sell the book too, after my collection was sold. Well, things change; this book is a keeper. It really recaptured the fun I had had of collecting and playing with GI Joe. The photographs are of the kinds of scenes I'd have loved to create for myself (if only my collection had been this good). The text reads as if you were listening to guy with a great sense of humor warm up to his favorite topic. Thanks Mr. Depriest for a job really well done.

5 comments about Face of the American Dream: Barbie Doll 1959-1971.
- This book is PERFECT for the advanced collector. Going thru each style of BARBIE from Ponytails thru TNT's. If you are looking for price guides, this is not the book for you. If you are wondering what the difference between white ginger and platinum bubbles, or what year TNT's had centered eyes, or to just drool over totally mint rare dolls, THIS IS FOR YOU! I really like it.
- This book is really a "fluff" version of the Barbie collector books. It doesn't have price guides, it doesn't list all the markings for the correct bodies, etc. However, what it does have is gorgeous up-close photos of mint vintage dolls. Whenever I'm having a doll restored, this is the book I turn to for excellent examples. I color copy the pages and send them to my restorationist. It shows many dolls of the same line so you can see and compare hair colors, make-up, etc. I highly recommend it to any Barbie collector. The most goreous book on the subject!
- She's perky, pretty, and piquant. She's a Barbie doll, the icon and idol of millions of preteen girls. Television producer/photographer Christopher Varaste takes us back to the 1960s when Barbie was on the rise embodying the face, figure and styles of that decade.
Turning the pages of this delightful and informative album is a nostalgic retro look at the way we were - when frosted lipstick was the rage, of course, Barbie wore it. Her golden hair was seen swinging in a bobbing pony tail or poufed into a Bubble Cut. As women grew more independent so did Barbie. She entered the job market as a career girl (well dressed, of course), zipped around town in a peony pink roadster, became an American Airlines stewardess, and even soared into space. She acquired the then fashionable Carnaby Street "mod look." And, Barbie had a theatrical bent appearing as "Guinevere." Whatever young girls dreamed of Barbie could become. Most of us age but Barbie evolves as Varaste's complete and colorful book reminds us.
- I am not impressed with this book. There are no values/price guides. No reference materials at all. All I see in this book is whimsical pictures.
- This book is one of the most beautiful Barbie books ever written. The pictures are beautiful. The dolls represent pictures of many of the best barbie collections in the World. The information is quite extensive. I give it a 11! Simply the best!
