1 comments about Barbie Doll Photo Album 1959 to 2009.
- Book has alot of pink/grocery store versions, very little collectible dolls, Missing alot of dolls, from 2006 - 2009. VERY LITTLE details. Convention dolls are in this book for the 50th anniversary but prior convention dolls are missing???? Vintage doll collectors will be thrilled with book. Alot of vintage pictures never seen in prior books. Photos are much bigger than prior book versions which is nicer! There is a little bit of everything from 1959-2009.

5 comments about Barbie: All Dolled Up: Celebrating 50 Years of Barbie.
- This book is fantastic! Not only is it a great coffee table book , it is also wonderful for the Barbie Collector with reproductions of the fan club letter from long ago and lots of other memorabilia .
- It was my entire childhood in one book. I blissfully recalled the Barbies I had, and dreamed about the Barbies I wish I had. I can't imagine a more complete book than this!
- My 10 year old loves the guide books for Barbie and this book is something a little different to add to her collection. It has great pictures and fun history on Barbie. It is easy to read and refer back to. She has gotten lots of reading time out of it since Christmas and it will be fun to hold on to for future generations.
- The jacket cover was bent down ont the top, either before packaging or because of tight packaging. The page corners in over 50% of the book were stuck together.
Wish I had bought the book at the Barbie Store at Mall of America when I was there in Nov., instead.
- I bought this book for my 9 year old Barbie fan. It is done in the style of a scrapbook and some pages have mini books and other extras to pull out. There's even an "official" Original Barbie Fan Club welcome letter. The colors and quality of the paper (the pages are very thick and kind of glossy)are phenomenal. This will be a book my daughter will pour over time and time again. I especially love seeing all the old barbies I had as a girl - and it's up to date with many of the barbies my girls have now. You won't be disappointed!

5 comments about Collector's Ency of Barbie Doll Collector's Editions (Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Collector's Editions).
- I had misgivings about ordering this book because for me, Barbie dolls should be playable. However, I learned from this book that many of the dolls I consider to be pretty enough to be enjoyable and therefore worth buying are labeled "Collector" by Mattel. Thankfully, these dolls are often available for $20 or less from many vendors. I also learned from this book that many of the dolls that I find unattractive and are often included in playsets are Generation Girl Barbies. This book helped me to understand my choices. I recommend it to anyone who plans to buy Barbies for their children. In contrast to this book, check out the Foreign Barbies book by the same author that describes not only dolls exclusive to overseas markets but many playline dolls sold in the US. The playline dolls just aren't as nice as the "Collector" dolls and it's not about price point. After perusing the Foreign Barbies book, I no longer wished for an Encyclopedia of Playline Barbies.
- My daughter saw this book at Pottery Barn Kids and asked Santa for it. I found it for a better price on Amazon. Book arrived in perfect condition and she loves it.
- I needed a book that would give me the values of my Barbie collection - this book was the most complete of all that I looked at.
- I was actually looking for a book that showed all the Barbie's ever made. This book doesn't cover that.
- This was shipped and packaged very well and also it's helping me with my collection. Item was as described and I would highly recommend this seller and will do business with again!!!!!!!!!!++++++++AAAAAAAA

5 comments about Crobots: 20 Amigurumi Robots to Make.
- I got my book yesterday and already started my first lil bopbot! It is so simple so far and I have never made an Amigurumi before! I will admit the patterns are mainly for adults, but I am sure you can replace the beads and stuff with something else so you can give to children. I plan on making certain ones for my son that way. Can't wait to work on the more advanced ones!
- I have to say, this is the best Amigurumi book that I've come across as of yet! The book is VERY well laid-out. From beginner to veteran crocheter, this book makes it easy. All of the information that you need is laid out clearly, from what materials to buy to the stitches that you'll need to know, including great, clear illustrations on how to do those stitches. I love Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More! and its clever, off-the-beaten-path patterns, but that book is lacking the initial basic information that this book lays out clearly and simply for the reader. With "Crobots", you CAN just pick this book up, head to the craft section of your local department or art supply store, stock your basket with yarn and needles, and go get started! "Creepy Cute Crochet" didn't make it quite that easy.
"Crobots" has absolutely adorable patterns, but they're not child-friendly. I love the way that screws, grommets, pin backs, snaps, and other notions are utilized to add a more authentic feel to the crocheted robots that you're taught to make here, but their presence makes them child-unfriendly. As long as you keep that in mind, or opt for other, safer substitutions, I can't see anyone not deeply enjoying the patterns and designs in this book.
I can't WAIT to complete my first Crobot!
- For those who like to crochet and are interested in cute little crazy toys - this book is a must! Fun projects, good explanation - one remark : som e of the the little toys are decorated with iron screws - so not suitabe for little kids!!!
havCrobots: 20 Amigurumi Robots to Makee fun, enjoy this book!
- This book has the most darling patterns! They are all very cute with very easy directions. There are very detailed directions on the construction of these toys. This book is will worth the cost!
- Although Nelly's designs are inventive and original, shodding editing results in patterns with errors such as the Zombiebot that requires instructs you to make two heads, two bodies and four arms and legs. This book seems as if it was rushed passed the editor to be sold.
In addition, please disregard the first 9 "customer photos" as those are in fact, characters exactly out of the book used for photography. I don't believe they adequately show customer results; rather author results with the book.
Please note, as the author states - these robots are not child friendly and all safety caution should be taken before giving them to small children as they contain loose screws, nails and pins.

5 comments about Doll Fashionistas: Beautiful Dolls and Ultra-cool Fashions You Create With Needle and Thread.
- I've been a doll maker for several years now and, even though I usually use my own patterns, I get a kick out of using others. I picked this up at JoAnn's and was excited to get started. First off, the instructions and process are extremely easy. This book would be great for a beginner, but more experienced crafters will also have fun with it. It teaches all the basics of doll-making (construction, needle-sculpting, button-jointing, etc.) with extremely useful and simple illustrations and photos and even has some fun clothing projects as well. I was disappointed in the fact that the dolls are HUGE at around 23 1/2" tall! Judging from the front cover, I was expecting them to be much smaller and more "fashion-dollish" (Hello, Fashionistas??), but you can always reduce the size of the pattern to your liking. My favorite part of the book was the hair-making section. I've always used mohair wigs on my dolls, but this teaches you how to use yarn as hair and make it look great, using a very simple loom. It's one of those things you read that's SO simple and you wonder why you never thought of doing it. That whole section is worth the price of the book to me. LOL I made 4 of these for my daughter and nieces and am saving it for when I teach my daughter to sew! =)
- The author's innovative instructions have taught me new and easy techniques for sewing dolls. These techniques can be applied to other types of projects as well. My 11 year old granddaughter and I have made "Doll Fashionistas" our activity for the summer when we have what we call grandma sewing camp. We first became acquainted with the book when we borrowed it from the library, but we quickly realized that we had to own it and keep it handy on our bookshelves.
- Maybe I was expecting something new and different, but this book was a disappointment. The dolls and clothing are average. It's okay if you are wanting a basic doll made from felt (maybe a beginners project) but definitely not for the more advanced and adventurous seamstress. Sorry, it just wasn't a good choice for me.
- I just received Doll Fashionistas. I absolutely love this book. The directions are clear and concise. If you have problems there is a CD included so that you can view technics first hand. I know I will be making a number of these dolls and their neat wardrobes! Well worth the price...kudos to the author...nice job! (Super Fast shipping as always by amazon)
- I just got this book, and I have been flipping through it. I LOVE these dolls, they are adorable and sorta sassy, and what great ideas for the doll clothes - I just love the embellished sweater made from a bear-doll sweater!

5 comments about Collectors Guide to Ideal Dolls (Collectors Guide to Ideal Dolls Identification and Values).
- I love this book, as it has pictures and information for the many dolls I have. My home has many of Ideal Play Pals and now I'm acquiring some of the Toni dolls and what fun, to learn about them and see the outfits, that were made, just for them. Some 55 years ago, I had a Toni and oh how I loved her.
This is an awesome reference book, well written and it was shipped in a timely manner.
- I found this book to be very useful in identifying the age of dolls and their value. It has a lot of information in it for the collectors !
- A MUST-HAVE book for any serious doll collector or dealer. Great and varied photos and description guidelines.
- This is a very good refence guide to use to find out information and value of all Ideal dolls. Lots of nice pictures!!
- I am a Shirley Temple Collector. I use this book all of the time to identifiy valuable dolls and outfits. I have learned so much from this book. A must have for anyone who collects dolls.

5 comments about Anatomy of a Doll: The Fabric Sculptor's Handbook.
- This is a book to get you INSPIRED to create your own designs. This is not a book filled with patterns for you to copy. It is about technique with wonderful photos and illustrations.
This is a great book for a doll-maker whether experienced or novice. But if you feel that you are too new in doll making and you need patterns or step-by-step instruction then this is probably not for you at this time.
- I do not buy craft books that I can't see whats inside, because its a good way to be bummed when you get the book. When I tried to look at the pictures in this book, and their other book, they were all blocked; what a bummer looked like a good book.
- Very detailed information on many types of soft doll construction. It is filled with excellent techniques and ideas. If you are interested in making soft sculpture dolls this is a great resource.
- I liked this book, mainly for the illustrations. I do make my own patterns
didn't expect to be given how to on everything. Do not get the"satanic symbolism" some people see???? But then I'm not one of the moral majority
people. Go figure?????
- IF TRYING TO TEACH YOURSELF DOLLMAKING A TOOL WITH MANY TIPS OF
DIFFERENT METHODS.I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM IT.ALTHOUGH I HAVE HAD FAILURES IT IS MAKING MY SKILLS GROW.ANOTHER MUST HAVE.

5 comments about Cloth Dolls.
- The technique for making these dolls are different and I like the face pattern which doesn't put a seam down the center of the face like other dolls. However, all the dolls look alike. I haven't made a doll from this book, but I am looking forward to making the doll on the cover. She is the most interesting doll, however my doll won't be a flapper. Great price though. Amazon makes it worth your while, delivery from the seller was very prompt and I will treasure it in my doll book collection that I've started.
- I like this book very much. It makes me want to start on a new doll immediately. The photos and instructions are great. And even though the dolls are somewhat similar, I am thoroughly pleased with the, at times, subtle differences and have found myself just looking thru the pages for merely the joy of it.
- I just recieved my cloth doll book. I read alot of the reviews before I ordered it and I can't aggree more with the good opinions of this book. I have five grand daughter and 6 grandsons and I want to make them all a doll. I was thinking of making dolls for all my grand daughters but there are some pretty cute boy dolls so at least the younger grandsons will probably also get a doll.! I can't wait!
- I was intrigued by the book cover before I purchased the book. Once I received the book I was extremely impressed by the step by step instructions. The pictures are beautiful. I am in the process of making my first doll and it was extremely easy to follow.
- I have yet to make a doll using this book, BUT I can hardly wait for Christmas to settle down so I can. I read through the entire book and what an inspiration! Instructions are so clear, beautiful pictures and now I understand how sculpted faces are made...I think I can do this. I have been looking for a book like this for years. Worth every penney.

5 comments about The Ultimate Barbie Doll Book.
- Very good guide for Barbie collectors, very helpful pictures, descriptions and price guidelines. However, I would have liked to see more Barbie doll clothes but very good overall. Was helpful in my e-bay Barbie bidding.
- there are a million of pics. pics full colored on every page. you can identify any barbie and a price guide in the back. ! excellent!
- Sveglia Italia! . Il libro? Ogni appassionato del genere ne conosce autorevolezza e valore.
- This book is NOT the Ultimate Barbie Doll Book. I could not find a single collectible Barbie Doll which I posses from the years it describes it covers when I purchased it. Description of the dolls covered should really be more detailed for collectors who are new to the industry. In addition, there is no option to select from Amazon if the item described does not meet your needs, you simply get a refund, minus shipping as a user error...Not too fair in my opinion.
- I mainly purchased this book to remember some of my childhood toys- I wasn't expecting the detail and page after page of pictures that made me interested in collecting Barbie's as well-
This thick hardcover book has colored photos of each Barbie both in the box and then a close up of the face. The Barbies are presented in chronological order by year by doll type- so i.e. Barbie from 1950s til 90s then Skipper from 50s-90s, then Ken, etc.
The book also has friends of the infamous Barbie and Ken couple; many of which I have never seen or heard of!
If you are looking for a nice photo array and price guide of Barbie and Friends. Truly the "Ultimate" Barbie book.

5 comments about 200 Years of Dolls: Identification and Price Guide (200 Years of Dolls Identification and Price Guide).
- There was such a demand for this book, will keep more in stock and add to collection for Doll Events.
- Most books are helpful for someone who appraises dolls. This certainly applies to this particular book. Love it!
- This was just perfect. The price was right. The item arrived in unblemished condition. The book was better than expected. I would recommend anyone looking for something of this category to go to Amazon.com. Thank you for the great experience.
- The book is very incomplete: a great many dolls are not listed; mostly only composition. The dolls that are mentioned are way to often not pictured, which i found enormously frustrating.I thought paging through my new book would be fun but instead it was just irritating. And of course the prices change, so ones really needs to check the internet for those. It's a horrible pictoral reference. Better to invest in the more specific books like Cindy Sabulis's guides. This book is not recommended.
- I just got done looking through this book, which is the 3rd edition and is dated 2005. I bought this book for $2 used on Amazon and that is all it is worth to me. I bought it for business purposes and if I'd paid the full retail price, I'd have been inclined to return it.
The photos are nice, full color and close up enough to get a good feeling of what each doll looks like, but there are many more dolls mentioned in text that are not pictured. It makes it hard to identify a doll if there's no photo of it.
For example, I mostly deal with Barbie and other fashion dolls and dolls of the later 60's and 70's. There is a section on Barbie but it offers only a few photos and most of the dolls listed are only mentioned in text. If you didn't already know what you had in your hand, how would you be able to look it up?
Crissy is one of the most popular dolls made by Ideal and there is only a mention of her in the 4 pages devoted to Ideal. There is not one photo of Crissy or any of her family. The only photo I saw listed under Mego was a NRFB Cher doll from the 70's. All the other Mego dolls are only mentioned by name. This book also does not list dates for most dolls. I find that frustrating, too. And the prices suggested as the value are very theoretical. Maybe pre-Ebay somebody would have spent so much for Barbie, let's say, but prices are not that good today, although the author does state she based prices on the doll being in mint condition and with original box, outfit and accessories. Still, I haven't seen too many Barbies in the condition she describes go for quite that much online.
Now, I don't want to say this book is all bad. Its just very incomplete in terms of it being a real history of 200 years of dolls. Its a very brief overview of dolls throughout the last 200 years and most of the photos that are featured, are of antique dolls, not fashion dolls, even though many fashion dolls are listed in text. I don't feel it would be worth $30, which is the suggested retail price. This book would be greatly improved by adding LOTS more photos and if it were spiral bound. Its very heavy and thick (415 pages) and pages don't stay open well. There's a whole chunk of pages seperating from the spine already and this book was like new! I also think the year for each doll should also be added next to the description. Again, a nice effort but falls short. It may be that it is too great of an undertaking to be covered in one volume. I feel the author should have covered less to give us more.
