1. I have a 17-1/2 year old dog. My veterinarian recommended this book to me about six months ago. Since that time, as my four-legged friend continues to exhibit different and sometimes confusing signs of aging, I've found myself pulling it off the shelf and using it for reference. This book discusses the joys of seeing your pet live to an old age, sprinkled with good doses of the realities we, as caring owners face, because they are. A "must read" for anyone who wants to make their pet's senior years as carefree as possible.



2. I wish I'd had this book when my Old English Sheepdog was getting older, getting sick and, eventually, dying -- I would have been far better able to care for him, and myself. But don't think that it's a depressing book; actually, it's mostly about what you can do to ensure a happier life for you and your canine companion. The author's useful, up-to-date health information from top vets is interspersed with first-person mini-essays by dog owners who have been there, so it's a good read as well as a valuable reference. I never thought I'd contemplate having another dog: I was too afraid of another tragedy, another load of guilt. But CARING FOR YOUR AGING DOG has given me hope and confidence.

1. Although this book is written about Golden Retrievers, all the information available is applicable to training any dog. The author teaches you to develop a positive relationship with your dog and makes learning enjoyable for you and your pet. As a veterinarian I recommend this book, particularly the training chapters, to all my clients.



2. An excellent book giving all the basics one needs to know to be a good dog owner and have a happy, well behaved pet. The DVD demonstrates how to teach your dog good behavior, whithout suppressing the natural playfulness and enthusiasm he has. It shows how to engage the dog in a fun relationship with you, while you maintain the leader position, the one who is in control and makes good things happen for the dog.

1. This book gives a good history of the breed, standards, and general info specific to the Chiuaua's care. It has tons of cute pictures, as well. Just be sure to purchase an additional book on puppy care and training, as these sections were not complete in this book.

1. I DID NOT READ THIS BOOK, BUT CORGIS, ESPESCIALLY THE PEMBORKE WELSH VARIATION ROCK!



2. The New Complete Pembroke Welsh Corgi by the same author (D. Harper) is vastly superior to this book. That book contains information about corgis & no other breed. Half of the information in this book is on corgis, but the rest of this book contains generic information that pertains to all breeds. For example; the "Happy Healthy Pet" book for westies shares some identical chapters with this one.



3. the book was great with lots of pictures and info. it was definatly worth the money. this dog is soo cute!



4. I have just bought and read this book on Corgis for a corgi research project I am doing. It lists a brief myth of corgis with faeries and how they came to be, plus their regular history, who owns them, etc... I thought it was very good description wise, also. It did an overall description of a corgi, their parts, then gave some interesting facts about each part. The only thing I was disappointed in is when I got to Part 3 and 4 ("Enjoying your Dog" and "Beyond the Basics") of the book. It was mainly focusing on all breeds, not mentioning any specific corgi facts to watch out for. Further more, the book was showing pictures in those sections of mostly any dog but corgi. But that's me...I thought it was only going to be about corgis.



5. A perfect book! It teaches you what to do when you bring it home, training, feeding, walking etc. Shows alot of many different pictures. It taught me all I need to know and much more!

1. This book was recommended to me by my breeder as the "go to" book for Norwich Terriers. I found it well-illustrated and extremely informative. It covers topics such as the history of the breed, what to get prior to your puppy's arrival, training tips, and development benchmarks. Our Norwich is now 3 months old and we refer to it often. - CTM

1. I loved all the stories. A few were repeats from other books of a similar nature that I have purchased but I loved reading them again. I laughed at many, cried at a few, and could relate to many of them. This is a really great book!
