1 comments about Pamper Your Pooch: How to Delight Your Dog - Practical Projects to Prove You Care.
- This illustrated book will give you ten of ideas on how to make coats for your dog, how to make beds and houses for them, necklaces, how to create a card for their birthday and much much more. Step by step projects, are easy to make using not only the patterns from this book, but also your imagination. It shows how to give your dog a bath, nail cut, brush. There are pages with doggy recipes for a special occasion or for every day cooking (they are delicious; I tried them!). It even has horoscope with details on every one, matching personalities, favorite color etc. It's really fun!

1 comments about Just Friends: A Dog's Tribute to Buddies, Pals & Amigos.
- I received this book from a neighbor and friend. I read various pages from it everyday. The photos are wonderful if you are an animal lover and even if you are not! Each entry about friendship is such great food for thought about the tremendous value of having a true friend. I can't recomend it enough and will continue the tradition of sending it to good friends.

2 comments about It Takes a Dog to Raise a Village: True Stories of Remarkable Canine Vagabonds.
- This is a short, lightweight little book, containing some simply written "wandering dog" stories. It's sure to appeal to dog lovers of all types, but probably not many others.
- It is a fun book to read for adults as well as kids.

4 comments about The Official Book of the Labrador Retriever.
- A great book to add to the collection for someone who is lab addicted and wants to have a book that covers a little bit of everything, from history to show to health.
- This is a very informative book. Excellent color photography. The LRC is a definite authority and the work presented in this book shows the dedication of this organization to the breed. All topics covered present a lot of info, nicely put together. For the person just looking for a book to pass his eyes about, the pictures will satisfy, but for someone wanting to really learn about the Labrador Retriever this is a great book. If you own a Labrador you should also own one copy of this marvelous work.
- I am a non-breeder, average suburban dog lover. I have owned several labs, am about to get another. Purchased this book from Amazon.com, returned immediately. Content is adequate, but multi-authors give same material over several different chapters-poor effort at editing. Basically an amateur effort at a very high price by people who are not writers. There is useful information there, just low quality presentation.
- This book is a "must" for anyone who owns, or plans on owning a Labrador Retriever. It covers the history of the breed, famous Labradors, famous kennels, breeding, training for show and field work, genetic troubles to look for, veterinary care, ins and outs of showing and field/hunt trials, and much more! All of the sections are covered in great detail not just skimmed over. Far and away the most used book in our Lab Library. A great value at any price.

4 comments about The Bichon Frise: An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.
- This book has a lot of great information on Bichons. Unfortunately the last few chapters about health, nutrition, and training were abouut dogs in general and not focused on the specific needs of a Bichon Frise.
- I found this book to be very helpful in learning about the Bichon when we purchased our first one in 2000. What a wonderful breed it is! Lot of helpful hints in it; a must read!
- I was drawn to this book because someone said they learned a lot from it even though he had a bichon already (like me). What I learned that was new was almost nil (and I haven't read a lot). Besides, the whole second half of the book is the annoying "doggie boiler-plate" info that seemingly gets plopped into all these kinds of books, and is written to be generic for all dog types. What I really want is a book all about bichons, and one that goes beyond confirming that they are great, smart, sensitive, loveable and loving dogs (which they most certainly are!)
- This book was a great resource to us for the care of our dog, Bam, and to understanding the unique characteristics of the Bichon. We've owned a Bichon for years and still learned much from this book. I recommend it to anyone who is getting or already has a Bichon.

1 comments about Yorkshire Terrier Today (Dog Breed Books).
- Ms. Sameja-Hilliard has captured the versatility of the yorkshire terrier. The book covers everything from your new puppy, to showing and training your yorkie in conformation, obedience, and performance events. History of the yorkie, complete with many photos of the early yorkshire terrier, shows how this breed has evolved. The breed standard is also covered, as well as grooming and health issues. Although this is a Britsh author, American yorkie breeder/judge Betty Dullinger also discusses the American yorkies today in the final chapter. A good book for any yorkie enthusiast. Easy reading, nice layout, and lots of pictures to correlate with the text.

1 comments about Portrait of the Dog as a Young Artist: Art from Scratch, by the World's Preeminent Canine Painter.
- Just saw Tillie in action on Conan O'Brien last night, and it is really amazing what a true artist this little pup has become. The story of her life and work in Portrait of the Dog as a Young Artist should serve as inspiration to dogs (and cats) everywhere that they, too, can find fulfillment in art and create work that can stand alongside such modern masters as Pollack and De Kooning. A true collectible for dog lovers and art fans!!!
