4 comments about Clumber Spaniel: A Complete and Reliable Handbook (Rare Breed).

1. It is hard to find books on rare breeds, especially on Clumbers. If you are interested in the breed, go ahead and by it (used, if possible) or borrow it from a library. But, also visit the official website (link found on the AKC's official site) and read the book Choosing a Dog for Life (Well Mannered Dog) which has excellent information on many breeds.
   
   The Clumber Spaniel is a wonderful dog breed!



2. A very nice book. Easy too read, extensive, describes all you have to know about bringing up a puppy, and MANY BEAUTIFUL pictures. I missed more detaild facts of the Clumber.



3. I loved the great colorful pictures but I sometimes didn't think you talked about the Clumber Spaniel specifically, but instead talked about dogs as a whole.



4. Buy this book for the pictures. They are outstanding. The text is only average. The AKC breed standard is included.

2. A magnificent display of heroes, scoundrels, statesmen and moguls from times past. Utterly hilarious and even credible, it draws you back again and again for another look. Where is the next edition!!

1. I picked up this book to get some general information, and the content exceeded my expectations. Very thorough and comprehensive. I was able to learn about my goldens many facts that I had not known and was not aware I should know!! I would recommend this book to any golden owner, as it is, in my opinion, a very valuable general information and refereence book.

1. This was the first book purchased on my dog, I thought it was pretty good (but very basic), at covering topics, but there is better books on staffys out there!



2. This is a really great book for the new owner. It has lots of very important information.



3. This is a comprehensive guide for the new owner. It covers such topics as selecting the right dog, characteristics of the breed, health care, grooming, and training. It also includes the history of the breed.

1. I just got a puppy, and I wanted to train her. So I bought this book, and it met all of my requirements. It isnt too big, compared to my computer books, its a toy size book. Overall, you get what you pay for. It teaches you the basics.

1. Fantastic! In Dog Whisper: Intuitive Communication C.W Meisterfeld reveals the secret of his knowledge of how he earned a Canine Distinction award for A.K.C Obedience (1957) and held a National Retriever Championship for three consecutive years 1962, 1963, and 1964 with a perfect 500 points in 1962.
   
   Even more important with this same understanding, how several thousand problem dogs lives were saved, including dogs that leading experts considered had the Rage Syndrome which he documented in Jelly Bean verses Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde.
   
   In 1944 a hunting dog that refused to retrieve due to his owners force retrieving, one day picked up and delivered a bone to Meisterfeld indicating his willingness to retrieve without being forced.
   
   That's the day that Meisterfeld discovered the unique (W.T.S) willingness to serve that separates our domestic dogs from the wild animal the wolf.
   
   In the Chapter of Chindo is a fighting breed considered Koreas nation dog was both a slasher and a choker and at 8 months he laid open a adult dog and had it by the throat before his owner could respond. When the owner was bitten, Chindo was turned over to Meisterfeld and was successfully reprogrammed without any form of punishment prong collars or drugs... The proof of this unique 2nd nature of our dogs W.T.S is shown in the photos of Chindo protecting a sleeping cat and dog that he once automatically would attack without any warning.
   
   There are 39 chapters and Humanization, Psychosomatic Illness, Separation Anxiety, Mimic Behavior are very informative.
   
   One chapter Double Edged Sword - Vicious Dogs Violent teenagers will be very helpful in understanding the powerful negative ramification of Dominant Training especially for dog owners with young children.
   
   I personally believe that Dr Meisterfeld's Philosophy is the solution to our global epidemic dog attacks



2. You can call C.W. Meisterfeld Doctor now. His book "Dog Whisper" tells of rehabilitating dogs of, lets say, of notorious character. All done without the use of drugs, (that are expensive), abuse, (do you want to teach your kids violence) and with imagination . The story of Rufus may make you think twice about living in a cookie cutter subdivision while your dog is off leash. I know because I found my dog is someone else's house one day. A house just like mine. All 37 stories are entertaining for anyone and for dog owners very educational about what can be done to turn a dog with behavioral problems into a welcome site for everyone. Dog whisper was written to entertain us as well as educate us. Now its time to put what Doctor Meisterfeld calls intuitive communication into action. This book is on a par with Monty Roberts book "The Man Who Listens to Horse"

1. I found this book to be a good general introduction to the Briard, describing conformance, temperament, and health issues. Training is dealt with briefly, as well as a mention of various shows. I would have preferred that the book deal a bit less superficially with the topic of training the Briard, as this is a critical topic for large herding / working breeds. This book would better be described as an introductory rather than a "comprehensive" owner's guide.
