1. The words "absolutely incredible" just doesn't do this book justice !!! This book is filled with breathe taking color pictures of U.S. Paper Currency and goes into great detail as to the value of each and every note anyone could possibly collect. This reference book not only covers the small-sized notes but also the collectible horse-blanket notes. This book is fast becoming my most favorite reference book in my library. This is a reference book just like the yearly revised Standard Guide to Small-Sized U.S. Paper Money books and when you combine both of these reference books in your private library you definitely can not go wrong !!!

1. Though there are several errors in this 2004 edition, the most outstanding and noticeable item is what's NOT included. There is absolutely no listing for any bills past 1995 issues! If the newer, larger portrait bills intrigued you enough to start collecting -- you'll find nothing about them. Whether you're a beginning collector or been at it a while, this book is a must SKIP. Two days after I bought it and made some initial notations in it, I tossed it into the trash. If I could give "0" stars or a negative, I would. Before you buy any guide or reference book, look through it to be sure it has what you're looking for!



2. Although, it is complete it is not very organized and the page numbers do correspond with the contents. If you are used to Friedberg's catalog of US Currency or some of the old Donlon catalogs you will not like this. Really needed to be proof read before printing. Had I known this I would not have purchased it!

2. I found this book to offer all of the basic information on coins without being overly dry and dull, as often books of this type can be. The format is easy to follow and skim. Overall a good book worth the money.



3. You would be better off buying the Encyclopedia of U.S. Gold Coins. It gives much more information in much greater detail. If you already own the Encyclopedia of U.S. Gold Coins or a similar book, you definately don't need this one, as it contains only redundant information.

1. This book was a little out dated and not very fluent reading. Might be good for a beginner, many of the questions were redundant.



2. Alan Herbert addresses questions from the most fundamental to the most esoteric questions concerning numismatics. His answers are generous, eloquent and, above-all-else, precise. This is a MUST have addition to any numismatic library.
