- This book is wonderful for the person who knows the bare minimum about the watchmakers lathe. It gives you a great detailed history of how the modern lathe came about and goes indepth greatly on techniques, making of tooling and dogs, along with tons of other info. If you know nothing about the lathe, this book me seem confusing or down right dull and uninteresting. This book was really meant for the beginner who has the general idea. I enjoyed this book for all the information it gave on alternate tooling techniques. Anyone just starting out in watch or clockmaking should have this book on their shelf!

1 comments about The Camerer Cuss Book of Antique Watches.
- Very nice reference work. Organized chronologically, there are excellent examples from all the major periods up to the late 19th century. Examples incude detailed descriptions of important horological features, biographical details of the maker and excellent photography. The book has both a nice glossary and a good index. This is a fun book just to browse, but also an essential comparative reference.

5 comments about Prestigious Watches.
- Still the best watch book edited in the serie of three by this publisher. well documented and spectacular close up of pictures.
- So-called "historic reviews" is awful. For example - on page 156 we can read: "In 1810, King Louis XVII of France appointed Breguet as Watchmaker to the Royal French Navy". Did you hear about Napoleon I? Sophie Ann Terrisse (editor of the book) no. For editor information - Louis XVI were executed much earlier 1810 and next Louis XVIII claimed as King in 1814. Louis XVII never was as King in fact.
- This is by far the most attractive book on watches that I have read to date. It is somewhat wider than most books so ensure you have a deep bookshelf. The photographs are of the highest quality and the editorial is well written and researched. This book is not a technical manual, it is a collectors book that portrays the most beautiful examples of the watchmaking tradition.
- One of the best books to start learning about watchmaking. A great introduction, easy-to-read, well-documented and graphically stunning. Perfect as a coffee table book to keep around or as a gift to those who need to be initiated.
- Glossy pictures, looks more like a picture book, a little bit of history of some companies, absolutely no in depth information, almost no information about movements. I regret that I wasted my money on this 'book'.
