5 comments about Vintage Rolex Sports Models: A Complete Visual Reference & Unauthorized History.
- This book only has old watches in and not all of them at that. Some details are incorrect.
However it is just a book on Rolex sports watches, but it has nothing new, the most modern watch it has is a 1975 GMT. So if you want to know something about Rolex wathes in the last 33 years, its not alot of good,
- This book is completely stated sports models and really can help user when buying a vintage Rolex!
- A most impressively comprehensive and finely detailed reference that will prove to be of great usefulness and interest to me when handling Rolex watches, and when talking to and advising collectors and enthusiasts.
- Pictures are of good quality. A good book to add to the collection, each watch has good description and on the watch movement.
It is a limited market, you have to remember its a book on the vintage watches and not modern Rolex watches.
Saying that I would not be without it, But I am a watch Nut.
- Great book for watch enhusiast. Although it only takes us up to 1997, so I was dispointed, The pictures are good, the history covers the basics. I would recommend to add to the collection

5 comments about The Clock Repairer's Handbook.
- The book arrived quickly, and in good shape. The book has a lot of good information, with clear diagrams.
- A very concise and detailed book, with many simple graphics but no photographs and certainly not of use to the novice who just wants to clean up and maintain a collection of old clocks.
- Excellent book!! Very detailed. It will require study, but is easily understood. And it's ALL in there- ftom nubie to expert. I've purchased 5 books, and this is the last one. I'll never need another.
- Very difficult book to comprehend. Just about useless as an aid to repairing clocks. I think a lot of it has to do with the language gap between American English and what the people in Britain speak. I am sorry I wasted my money on this book.
- This book was a total waste of money for me. The UK English is nearly impossible to decipher at times. It is very difficult reading. This mihgt be a good book for experts but is worthless to the beginner. The author describes repair in detail, but assumes the reader knows all the technical terms being used without explaining them. The drawings are difficult to decipher. Photos would have been better. If you are a beginner looking for a good book to get started in clock repair, this isn't it!

5 comments about 100 Years of Vintage Watches: Identification and Price Guide (100 Years of Vintage Watches).
- Good photos & description of vintage products. I bought this as a gift to a friend and he is really into Vintage watches.
- This is a great reference however it has very limited information and only a fraction of collectible Watches are listed.I will admit the photography is excellent!
- Disappointing. Little if any information about European and English watches. Misleading title should be call American watches and a few others.
Unless you are into American watches - a waste of time and money
- The book has thousands of pictures of watches, mostly pocket ones. However, it does not cover the history of such watches It's just a picture timetable of watch development.
- I found this book to be excellent reading. It includes hundreds of beautiful photos and a brief but fascinating historical summary for several well-known foreign and American watch manufacturers. Even a person who knows nothing about watches would enjoy browsing through this book. Highly recommended.

5 comments about Wristwatch Annual 2007 (Wristwatch Annual).
- This is book is great. It lists a lot of world high-end watches from 2007. Although I don't have money to buy them now. At least I can look at it as a gallary book.
- I bought this just to see all the awesome watches out there. Some of these are in the hundred thousands. Wow. Great pictures and company info. If you enjoy watches in the least you must own this catalog its huge and has hundreds of pictures of watches you will never own, unless you have a few hundred thousand sitting around.
- Great pictures, a must for any watch enthusiast. Side note. Some of the actual specifications are not accurate.
- The photography alone of these world class timepieces brings out the male urge to splurge. It's like being a kid in a candy store, you want one of everything! I've read the '05 and '06 editions and this one does not disappoint. Nice feature: a guide to the pronunciation of all those Swiss, German and French names. Even if you don't speak any of those languages you can say the names like a native. Any watch aficionado will spend many delightful hours soaking up all the facts, figures and history presented here.
- I really like the format, usually get the new one when it's released.

5 comments about Collector's Encyclopedia of Pendant and Pocket Watches 1500-1950: Identification and Values (Collector's Encyclopedia).
- I was disappointed with this book. There appears to be no organization and the information does not appear to be accurate. I expected much more and this book did not deliver.
- My 22 year old son is starting a collection of pocket watches and he has enjoyed this book. He uses it when he goes online to fine new treasures.
It helps him know what to look for.
- Great pictures, but I have aspected more from this book about movement's and calibres explanation. If you have just started to collect pocket watches, than this book is for you.If you need some details for movements and calibres you will be at the start of your expertise !!!
- Here's an example of a book that should never have been produced. The author is obviously misinformed and quite frankly, ignorant, regarding watches. The book is riddled with incorrect information regarding watch descriptions, including blatantly wrong jewel counts, movement descriptions, and the repititious "very fine and rare", "fine and lovely", "very fine and very rare", ad nauseum. The author constantly includes "micrometric regulator" in descriptions of pocket watches, that have NO micrometric regulators! The book is attractive, and has some excellent photographs, but, at best, this is a book that needed an author with some watch "smarts".
- The book is divided in 5 chapters, each one covering one century of watch development. Each chapter deals with case, movement and decorative procedures development. In the end of each chapter you will find a full range of color fotos of watches of that period. The pictures are very beautifull, but not unique: you will find them in The Sandberg's Watch Collection Book. I think that the book should earn just 3 stars, just because it does not have "unique" pictures. However, the pictures were unique for me, since i don't have sandberg's book.

- Grand Complications Volume III: High Quality Watchmaking (Grand Complications)
This was my second purchase of these mostly high quality photograph compendiums of examples of famous brands' masterpieces. These pictures are divided into groups, based on the types of complications( the things the wristwatches do with mechanical parts in addition to telling time)they display. Between each grouping is a well written essay about that kind of watch function, and how to tell the characteristics that collecters look for and prize. The authors of these articles are usually famous makers of fine timepieces and use their own work to illustrate what they write about. I enjoy reading about making horological art, but I get my most fun from using a good magnifying glass to examine each photo to see how they made every detail. It is the careful research into the various imaginative ways of solving microengineering problems, and how to align the discovered solutions with the philosophic and artistic principles professed by company spokesmen and examples of past work that make studying watch collecting so interesting. Any person looking through this book will easily see why some companies are famous. The more a person learns about how quality work is different from the common cheap watch, the greater facination and amazement grows. You see, for every difficulty there are many solutions for good engineers and artisans to choose and express. Different companies have traditions about how each decides. That is what makes each brand recognizable. This book is better than volume 2, that I bought last year and still keep close. I have other books by the same company that have more words than pictures, and I like both ways of learning.
- The book arrived on time, in perfect condition and it is a great gift for somebody who enjoys watches.
- Big book, full color photos, explanations of all the majoy watch works. Perfect for any watch affectionado.
- Not worth the money unless you like pictures. Needs more technical background information on the various watches.
