2 comments about Cats in the Parsonage (All God's Creatures Series, Book 1) (All God's Creatures).
- What is more fun if your a cat lover, than reading this wonderful book. Full of religion and cats. The preacher and his wife learn to enjoy the antics of their cats. This is a wonderful inspirational book.
- I received this as a gift because I LOVE cats! I could only read so much. In the first 17 pages, the author has an "outside" cat that gives birth to 5 kittens, 2 of which get run over. Those 3 then have kittens of their own, bringing the total to 16 cats.
The author doesn't think about being a responsible pet owner and having them spayed or nuetered. One of the cats has a
hard time giving birth, and is weak and sick for days afterward. Does the owner take her to a vet? Of course not!
He leaves everything up to God. The writing is peppered with religious talk that makes me sick, because the owners won't even take care of their pets! I couldn't finish the book- it made me so angry.

2 comments about Felinestein: Pampering the Genius in Your Cat.
- If you're like me, and you demand excellence from your pets, FELINESTEIN is the perfect guide. For many years I suspected that my cat wasn't living up to his potential. He would do little more than sleep on the windowsill and lick himself occasionally; he was using large quantities of catnip; he stopped associating with other cars; and he lost all interest in his favorite toys--the scratching post and the little rubbery thing on the end of a stick. I suspected that, deep down, he wanted more out of his life. He was tired of the humdrum existence, but was unable to express himself clearly. Now, after just six months of using the puzzles in this book, my cat can open doors, flush toilets, play hide-and-seek, operate the remote control, and even has a rudimentary understanding of the answering machine. He shows more self-assuredness now with other cats, and--with his added confidence--has apparently impregnanted many of the neighborhood she-cats who previously wouldn't look at him. The book is by no means a guidebook to TRAINING your cat; so, rest assured, your felinestein will remain as independent as ever. In fact, now that my cat can open doors, I haven't actually seen him for several days. I know he's in the house, because he goes through the refrigerator at night, and sometimes leaves a mess in the kitchen. But this is a small price to pay for the satisfaction of knowing that your cat is happier, more fulfilled, and better equipped for his life, both on the windowsill and out in the world.
- This book has some interesting ideas about how to increase your cat's intelligence, but.... I guess my cat is just a big dummy. I don't think any of the techniques worked. I'm just proud of having taught my cats how to open doors.... but this book would make an excellent gift for your cat-loving friends who has everything.

2 comments about All About My Cat.
- If you want to create something fun and quirky that you'll probably never look at again, but have a fun time doing, this is for you. It has fun little questions, like what president your cat would be if he was a president, if your cat likes comedy or horror movies etc.
If you're looking for a REAL keepsake, I recommend "my cat's journal" by aaron hunt. it was by far the best of the four books i bought, get that one.
- If you love your cat, you should buy this book, which asks just about every possible question about him/her. From "Does your cat like Fruit or Vegetables" (True or False) to "It hurts your cat's feelings when:" (check all that apply). It is very cute, and even after your cat is gone, you will have something to remember them by.

5 comments about Cat Spelled Backwards Doesn't Spell God: Portraits of Divine Dogs.
- The reason I got this book was because I was drawn in by the Yorky on the cover and the clever title. But I will admit, I was disappointed by the book's content as I was expecting a lot more. This book is very much like the 365 Days of Dogs desktop calendar where they show a fun photo of a dog and show a cute little story about him. Only this book profiles just a few fun loving dogs. Fun photos, cute profiles. Not a whole lot of content.
- I have no idea what all the other reviewers are seeing and reading, but it certainly isn't "Cat Spelled Backwards." These "portraits" of dogs are snapshots that any dog owner could have taken, and what can be considered no more than one or two-line captions aren't even "cute."
"Lucy D gets wiped out playing games with her brother and big sister in the big yard of their big house."
That's neither funny, nor fun, and laughable in only the sense that I spent 11 bucks on this thing that I will now give away next Christmas.
- I ran across this book by accident, and fell in love with it right in the store. It is now my favorite coffee table book, and I enjoy paging through it regularly. I am purchasing additional books to give as gifts.
This book has beautiful pictures and witty commentary. Some of these stories will both tug at your heartstrings and make you laugh all at the same time.
- As the owner of my own dog walking company, and someone that it putting together a book of this kind on their own, I would like to give Mr. Jeff Selis a hug (and of course a run for his money, ha ha ha). This is a fabulous book. The pictures are great, and the text is just perfect. I laughed out loud and even got teary eyed a couple of times. I typically feel the bigger the better when it comes to photo books but this is the perfect size for what he's done. Of course we always love more more more, but I definitely feel like I got my money worth (which is definitely not always true). I own about every book of this kind there is (dog pics, with some kind of text) and truth be told, some are a real let down, even though there isn't a picture of a dog I don't adore, some have proven to be, maybe just too simple? Others show a lack of decision making skills (no, I like the descriptive words, no no, maybe quotes, no no wait, just throw it all in...) But so far in my collection, Jeff's book, Cat Spelled Backwards Doesn't Spell God, just overtook Shaff/Blount's If Only You Knew How Much I Smell You (also a good one), to sit in first place as my favorite. :)
Dear Jeff, WELL DONE.
- Having thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Selis' enchanting other book, "Dog Bless America", I was delighted to find this hidden gem. I found the dogs in this book to be every bit as adorable as the ones in his other book (Dog Bless America). I especially like the clever title. It took me a few seconds to do the math, but once I did, I HOWLED for two straight minutes! As a cat-owner(hi, Mittens!) I feel slightly guilty for having this book in my apartment. But in my heart, I believe even a cat would have a hard time not liking this wonderful, magical book!! God bless you, Jeff Selis, for your always-adorable dog pictures!

2 comments about Pawmistry: How to Read Your Cat's Paws.
- I loved this book ... not only did I love it but all my friends loved it ... I have 2 cats and read their paws and it was amazing how accurate the reading was as to their personality. This is a fun book and always sits on my coffee table for friends to look at. Highly recommended for anybody with a cat.
- This book was interesting and cool. But it was stupid and unethical it made no sense what-so-ever. I believe in reading palms and other mysterious things but not this!
