1. I'm just getting started reading this book and so far I love it. I've been in the Veterinary field for a while and thought this would be a great book to have for a refresher and also to answer questions that I may have now that I've moved into the Critical Care / Emergency end of Veterinary Medicine.

1. This book answered many of my questions about cats. Why will a cat appear to enjoy being petted but then suddenly bite you? Why do cats catch mice when they always have food available and can't be hungry?
   
   I've lived most of my life with cats, but this book taught me a lot about them I never knew. They're very different than dogs, and you can't expect them to act like a dog, or in a way you think is "reasonable."
   
   The photos are wonderful, and are a good illustration of cat postures and expressions.



2. This book has a lot of cute kitten pictures. The text, though sparse, goes into excruciating detail on the pregnancy cycle of a cat. Otherwise there is not much about a cat talking or what their body language says.

1. Contains more than your cat, or any cat, would expect you to know...contains everything ever written and/or thought about regarding cats.
   
   Some may read it all, word for word, but most will probably scan it, pick and choose what to read seriously and studiously. Lots and lots of facts, figures, interesting insights and cat trivia.
   
   The casual cat lover and the cat lover will enjoy this book, but cat enthusiasts will devour it.
   
   One's rating on this book will depend more the individual reader's, shall we say, "curiosity" about cats than the content of the book. Not much writing here, just a full and complete collection of cat facts and cat tails.
   
   A word of warning...have a magnifying glass handy if you plan on reading this book. The type is entirely too small. Reading it is a strain on the eyes...
   
   A better editor and a more creative designer would have made the book imminently more readable and enjoyable.

1. I've read many books on this subject and find this book to be out dated. Some of the author's recommendations are not up to today's standards.



2. Juliette de Bairacli Levy is first and foremost one of the world's most famous herbalists. She lived and learned from the Gypsies of Europe how to grow and use medicinal plants for people and for animals. There is a wonderful video of her life by Tish Streeten called "Juliette of the Herbs". Cats Naturally is based on raising cats according to the cat rather than the human. Diet is determined in large part by their diet in the wild, medicines according to their own means of healing when left alone. There are herbal remedies for parasites and insects (mange, ear mites, ticks, lice, fleas & ringworm), and herbal remedies for digestive problems and other ailments. It is a great book and one I have used happily with my very beautiful and very healthy cats. This is a very sensible book by a very sensible, wise and loving woman.

1. It's quite technical but is heavily illustrated and goes into detail about different breeds and various aspects of cat care.



2. I have relied on this book since the first printing in 1989. The book is comprehensive and very user friendly. It enables the pet owner to converse intelligently with his or her own veterinarian. I highly, highly recommend this book. Catherine Weigel (Xcriber@aol.com)

As the owner of a 50-pound terrier mix who was not trained correctly and then experienced a period of abuse and neglect, this book has been extremely influential in how I communicate with my dog, and how I recognize what my dog is communicating to me. The book was recommended to me by an excellent trainer from Las Vegas, Nevada, and I have relied on it ever since to help me recognize signs of stress and boredom in my dog, develop a more effective training program, and recognize the true causes and remedies for destructive behaviors. This book should be required reading for all pet owners. There would be many more happy pets and happy owners.



2. Not as good as I expected, a lot of it seemed like common sense or for dog owners.



3. As a steward for many cats and dogs my whole life, I thought I could read them very well. But "PetSpeak" opened my eyes to many things I was doing wrong, particularly in interpreting the countless nuances of their expressions and activities, and how I responded to them. Anyone who is around cats and dogs should read this. Their lives and those of their animals will be enriched.



4. If you are a dog or cat lover you must get this!!! It is so informative and teaches you new thing for communicating with you loved ones,.... I found information that I have not known and It is also enjoyable to read and to know what your loved one means by some action,.... It is also has illustration and brought it in a humour way,... It shows for example the tail meaning of dogs and cats...why dog sometimes eat faeces, why cat wakes up so early,....their vision compare to us,.....and lots other informative thing,.... It lets you take your relationship with your pets to another level,..... It has given me a different perspective on my babies,...



5. I found this book extremely informative even though I've been working with animals for the last 25 years. Great book for the beginning pet owner (dog or cat) and good also for trainers. Helped to dispell my confusion of direct eye contact being a form of communication or a direct challenge.

1. This is one of the best cat books I have ever seen. It has tons of adorable bright colored pictures of all different kinds of cats and kittens . My daughter is 8 and she is a cat lover like me and we both enjoyed this book. I know we will look at it over and over again. It is a perfect size cube so it is not bulky and doesn't take up alot of space. I give this book 5 stars !
