1. This is a nice "general purpose" cat book for children. It doesn't go into detail about anything in particular, but touches briefly on topics such as what food cat's should eat, how there are long and short hair varieties, and why spaying is a good idea.
   
   The author's strength, besides being a vet, is that he emphasizes the functionality of cat's special features. He explains, for example, that they use their tails to balance and communicate, and that their whiskers are very important in feeling their surroundings.

   While this might sound like a lot of information, it isn't. Topics are usually handled on two facing pages with less that one page worth of text interspersed with photographs, humorous conversation balloons, and fun snippets.
   
   Four Stars [B-] This is a nice general purpose book for elementary aged children. The format is what I call 'lively'. There are plenty of photos of various sizes that break up the text, plenty of blurbs and captions.
   
   The Accelerated Reading/ATOS designation is 4.2. The book can be read to any child, of course.

1. This book is a small collection of black-and-white photographs of Hollywood movie stars with cats. Some of the photos are from movies, some are posed publicity stills, and others are images of stars at home with their pets. Featured in this collection are Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Carole Lombard, and Kim Novak. There are some contemporary stars as well, including Drew Barrymore and Sigourney Weaver, but the majority of the photos are images from classic Hollywood. My favorite photo is of a young Marlon Brando at home on his sofa, with his cat curled up around his neck.
   
   If you are a fan of classic Hollywood and cats, you will definitely want to add this book to your collection.



2. Yes! This is the book featuring Hollywood cats and stars in the movies! The movies range from Breakfast at Tiffany's to Stephen King's Cat's Eye and the cats include Morris the 9-Lives cat, himself! The photos are very glamerous!



3. It's very hard to tell without a cover photo or description, but I am pretty sure this is a picture book of actors with cats. If this is that one, then it's wonderful! I love the old art-deco glamour pics of glamour-pusses with famous stars like Marlene Dietrich and Cary Grant.

1. Any book that can get a guided reading group of first graders rolling on the floor with laughter is a plus with me. Even I the teacher was caught up in this charming little mystery that turns on its heads stereotyped relationships between cats and mice. The characters are silly, but that is the charm and my kids loved it, so good enough!



2. If your little reader loves ghost stories, I really recommend this one. It has a good, easy storyline to follow about a man who loves books, cats and cheese. Take it from there. Very cute. I am constantly amazed at the quality of these easy reader stories. Great illustrations; great idea for a story and a bookstore!!
