   "I like this book because I like science books and animal ones too. It is a fun book and tells you about kittens and cats. This would be a good book if you are getting a new kitten or cat."

1. Though written in 1968, this book has much information that remains valid and is useful for anyone with feline friends.
   Part One is "Evolution and History of the Cat", which includes descriptions of the domestic cat breeds and their larger, wild relatives.
   Part Two is "Cat Care". It includes "Where to get a cat", an interesting section on "The cat's body: How it functions", "Nutrition", and "Care and training", where the only thing I disagree with is the option of declawing, which was done so frequently decades ago.
   It ends with "Your cat and the community", on laws, and your responsibilites as a cat owner.

   Part Three: "Your Cat's Health", details a wide range of ailments, first aid treatment, and home care for the sick or injured cat.
   Part Four is "Reproduction". Spaying/neutering, the care of a pregnant cat, and much more.
   Part Five is "Old Age". This is a small section, but covers all the important points.

   J.J. McCoy was manager of the Bide-A-Wee Home for Animals in New York City, and chairman on the Board of Animal Regulation. His book is a practical manual, very detailed, with a "no frills" approach, which I appreciate. You won't find any "fluffy cuteness" here, just the facts.

1. I was expecting at least a synopsis of the book that would be searchable and give verbal guides as well as pictorial recommendations of techniques. This is just a pictorial supplement. The pictures and cine-loop presentations are nice, but this is not helpful to someone who is trying to perfect image acquisition and quality. If you do want this CD ROM for your collection, I recommend also getting a text so that questions which you may have will get answered. The CD does not address probe angle for any view, nor does it address technique as far as removing artifact. If your like me, you will want more of a reference than just a collection of pictures. the quality of the pictures is excellent. The ease of installation is a plus, as long as you do not have computer conflicts.
