1 comments about The Cat Care Manual.
- The Cat Care Manual is a hardcover book that encompasses basic kitten, adult, and elderly cat care plus the latest veterinary advice on sickness and how to maintain health. In an easy-to-understand format, (complete with full-color photos and illustrations of cats used to better explain certain points,) the book supplies answers to commonly asked questions, from,"Will cat fleas live on humans?" to "Should I choose a male or a female kitten?"
There are five organized chapters, which help make the book more comprehensive: The Young Cat; The Adult Cat; The Elderly Cat; General Medical Care; First Aid. In the first section, you can acquire the knowledge to purchase a happy and healthy new addition to your family. The second part includes all you need to know and more about breeding and neutering/ spaying your kitty. Following up, "The Elderly Cat" describes the sad decision you must make to benefit your beloved feline. After all,"To put to sleep or not to put to sleep?" really is the question. The fourth chapter is packed with descriptions of all sorts of diseases, while the fifth provides life-saving facts. As a cat owner and breeder myself, I can tell you that The Cat Care Manual truly is a number one book for a serious (or even not so serious) cat lover. Viner goes to great lengths to make everything clear to the reader. I suggest that the reader be at least twelve years old, since the detailed information can be rather difficult to digest for the younger person. How can you tell if your kitten has congenital problems? What does it mean if your cat gives you a long, slow blink? Is ringworm caused by a worm? If you are a owner of a feline and you don't know the answer to any one of these questions, then The Cat Care Manual is for you!

4 comments about Final Exit for Cats: A Feline Suicide Guide.
- Very enjoyable, loving, entertaining and a definate for cat lovers. I just need to know where I can purchase the book?
Please email me that information. Thank you.
- My brother and I fell on the ground laughing hysterically at the illustrations and captions--although this was 9 years ago
we still get a good laugh out of it. We almost got kicked out of the bookstore for disturbing the others.
- As a life-long cat LOVER, I was suprised to find myself laughing hysterically at nearly every page in this book. The pictures and the light-hearted text are too cute and silly to be taken as malicious. The best advice - wait.
- I got this book up at a used book store, I love it! It's hilarious, and I have to keep telling my mom not to let our siamese cat see it. It's one of my 3 books I always have on hand, and I read it all the time. My fave exits are turkey and microwave. Makes a good coffee table book, and a good gift, cat-lover or cat-hater. Just DON'T get any ideas! Have fun!

1 comments about Bonds Of Affection: Thoreau On Dogs And Cats (The Spirit of Thoreau).
- I found this book to be other than I expected. I thought this famous philosopher who wrote Walden Pond, for which he is famous, would have owned and loved many dogs. His oservations are mostly about neighborhood dogs, and usually not particularly sympathetic. Obviously Thoreau was no Albert Payson Terhune, and probably wouldn't have been interested in Lassy or Rin Tin Tin. If you are dog simple like me, pass this one up.

1 comments about Happy Kittens, Happy Cats.
- I was once very afraid of cats. Their eyes, the deep impersonal look of an infinite hostility. But then I had to learn to live with one. And what I have discovered is that though they might scratch or claw or bite at an unexpected moment they are quite remarkable and mysterious creatures. Mordechai Siegal has here written a wonderful little guidebook to the character, nature and raising of cats. They will never be little puppies and their loyalty to their space will probably go beyond always any affection they might have for you personally. But if you feed them they will be to a degree connected with you . Siegal explains a lot of things I suspect even the most caring cat- owner does not know. How they mark out their space with their claws, how they make those sudden midnight rambles which upset the whole house, why they remain hunters by nature and graceful whenever they move.
Anyone who wishes to understand cats , whether they are cat- lovers or not, should have this book.
