5 comments about Cats: The Book of the Musical.
- Memories...CATs is one of the longest running plays of all times. A must see if you ever get the opportunity - take in this show.
- I read a review that said the pictures were crisp. I ordered the book and found the pictures to be blurry and unprofessional. They look like they were taken from the front row during a performance with the wrong film speed and light setting on the camera. I was very disappointed with the pictures and overall quality of the book. This is not a high quality book of the musical, but I can't seem to find any other book about the broadway musical that contains pictures. Too bad.
- I loved the stage musical and didn't understand a word except for "Memories". And I love the video to death. But this book is no way a companion to the video, unless you're just looking for the words to the songs. In that case you've spent way too much (the lyrics can be had on the WEB)! The cast in this book is different than the Video and if you have young kids who love the video like mine do, they are going to ask (and say)"Why daddy does Gus look different, or that's not Gus". The only worth while text is from Andrew Llyod Webber and it happens to be the shortest article of the 4 included. I was disappointed to say the least and in hind sight find that 99% of the reviews are "irrationally" positive and not at all realistic.
- Well There's Not much to it...
Some info about T. S. Eliot, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Others Lyrics from the Songs which i like And Pictures of the Original Broadway Cast A bit pricey for just that... Still A Good Book...
- I am a big fan of Cats(we're talkin' realy big!I know all the lyrics and dances)and I found this book a great addition to my Cats Collection, which includes greasepaint, Old Possum's Book, T-Shirt,hat, sweatshirt,ORIGINAL BROADWAY COSTUME WORN BY CYNTHIA ONRUBIA(VICTORIA), fan-made costume, A WIG WORN BY VEERLE CASTELYN(JEMIMA), 5 CDs, Video, 2 DVDs, ticket stubs, autographs, program, magnets, letters from actors, and a WIG WORN BY CYNTHIA ONRUBIA THE ORIGINAL BROADWAY VICTORIA. This book is wonderful and added to my huge collection. It might not be as valuble as the two wigs or the costume, but it is still a cool book!

5 comments about Cancer and Your Pet: The Complete Guide to the Latest Research, Treatments, and Options.
- Good information for people going through the struggle of cancer with their pet.
- looks at both conventional and alternative options. I did not find alot on what I was looking for: lung tumours in dogs but on the general topic this book was very informative .
- A clear, comprehensive, sensible introduction and overview--as much information as the non-professional needs. There's one area that may set off unnecessary alarms. The author gives encouraging news and advice concerning pets with cancer, treatments, and prognosis with one notable exception: cancer that has been caused by vaccination, for which, the author says, there is no cure. This led me to do a Google search and discover similar grim information, except magnified and multiplied.
The truth appears to be that the problem--although a cause-effect connection has been established in some instances--is extremely rare and that worse harm may be inflicted upon a pet by not vaccinating it. I learned the foregoing not from my local vet but by driving kitty across state to the University of Wisconsin Veterinary School--which in addition to addressing the concern about vaccinations was able to determine that my local vet's diagnosis of cancer was a misdiagnosis (common bacterial infections can lead to limping, bone erosion and other symptoms of cancer).
- My cat way diagnosed with cancer about 5 months ago. I found this book to be the most helpful in understanding her cancer (GI lymphoma) without being overly filled with jargon. It was also the best on helping me understand the treatments available (and why some weren't for my cat) but I wish it had gone into more technical detail about the various medications and what they do for chemotherapy. Unfortunately, none of the books I found provided that information. I like the fact that the book separates out discussion on dogs and cats. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone with a pet with cancer.
- Hi there, this is Margaret H Bonham, the co-author of Cancer and Your Pet. Unlike some authors who have a secret agenda when it comes to treating cancer, both Deb and I wanted you to get all the information out there when it comes to cancer and your pet.
When your pet has cancer, it's a scary time for you. You don't know who to turn to for advice. Quite frankly, most cancer is curable or we can do something about it. It's very important to understand the options, whether conventional or holistic.
This book gives a good overview to each of the cancers you're likely to run across in dogs and cats and the modes of treatment currently available. We talk about cancer research -- what's the latest thing out there and how you can get involved in cutting-edge studies. We also about decision-making -- is this something you can afford and how far do you wish to go when treating the cancer? We talk about care for the cancer patient and how to recognize an emergency versus whether this is really a problem. We even cover holistic options -- something most books either don't cover or cover to the point of excluding other highly successful conventional treatments.
Both Deb and I have had dogs who died from cancer. We know what you're going through. Check out our book. You'll be glad you did.

5 comments about The Fur Person, Gift Edition.
- May Sarton, poet and journal-writer extraorindaire, wrote a novella/poem to the Cat, the Gentleman Cat, called "The Fur Person". I have reread this masterpiece every year for the past 25 years. "The Fur Person" is for children and adults, for everyone!
- May Sarton is an insightful writer in all of her books. Although I am not a cat lover, I read the book first before deciding whether or not my cat-lover reader friends would enjoy this book. I know they will. The hardcover edition is especially nice for a gift. The illustrations in the book are a treasure as well.
- This book was given to me as a gift and after reading it I promptly bought 4 from Amazon to give as gifts for the holidays. The author has truly captured her cat's essence. It's beautifuly written and tells just how much love a cat needs and gives. I highly recommend this book.
-
This is a good book both children and adults. Couldn't wait to read the next chapter.
- This is such a wonderful book. It is short and easy to read, but so well written, by the late poet May Sarton. It is the story of her cat, Tom Jones. When the fur person decided it was time to settle down and find a home, he found Ms. Sarton and her partner, and became a precious part of their family. This book makes a very great gift for any cat lover. Unbelievably, it has been out of print from time to time. Thank goodness it is available both in paperback and a gift edition now.

5 comments about The Ultimate Cat Treat Cookbook: Homemade Goodies for Finicky Felines.
- I thought this book was going to offer recipes for dry cat treats that would stay in a container on the counter like so many of the dog treats...but it if full of recipes that require refrigeration. They are also messy treats. Just not what I thought it would be and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
- I cooked 12 recipes from this book following the instructions exactly. ALL my 7 cats HATED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!!
- These are some good recipes, but what really shines is the illustrations. I will be watching Troy Cummings' career with great interest.
- I'm not sure why the Tuna recipe was not successful for one reviewer, because it is one of my cats' favorites (I have 4 finicky felines). Of the 4 recipes they have tried, the Tuna treats are definitely at the top of their list. While tuna is not my favorite smell, I didn't find it too offensive once cooked and the cats went wild (they even sat up, which is usually reserved for cheese treats). I would recommend this cookbook for any cat owner who wants wholesome treats that are not crammed with fillers like the store-bought ones are. I agree that this is a nice gift idea for any cat lover and have an extra copy on-hand just for that occasion.
- I found this cat treat cookbook to be just delightful! The recipes are fast, easy, and healthy too. What a fun way to show your cats they are special to you. There is even a recipe for catnip tea. The artwork adds a charming touch. This little book would make a great gift for any cat lover on your list.

5 comments about Menopaws: The Silent Meow.
- What an entertaining book. My wife and I ordered several copies for female friends who are experiencing , or who have experienced ,the joys of the female aging process.
- I am a Cat lover so I was immediatly attracted to this book by the illustrations. I bought the first copy for my sister who is going through early menopause. She loved it ...I think it was the first time she was able to laugh at some of the things she was feeling. It's very well written with a great sense of humor ! I have since given this book to several friends. A great gift for someone in need of a smile !!
- I bought this book a few years ago and thought it was hysterical then. Since then I continue to buy more books for friends and family because everyone needs a good laugh when they are going through "the change." This year I gave a dozen "Menopaws, The Silent Meow" books to a group of women who came to a class reunion. Not only was it a great ice-breaker... but everyone agreed is was fun and thoughtful. I recommend that all the women out there consider buying this book for their next luncheon or their class reunion. It's a real hoot!!!
- I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! I have not laughed so hard in years! This is the kind of book that you keep on the coffee table and read over and over again. I have read "Menopaws: The Silent Meow" often and it cracks me up everytime...
- I noticed this book as I was browsing for information about menopause. I
purchased it thinking a good laugh would be a welcome thing! If a giggle was had, it was solely a result of the adorable drawings. I actually winced at a few of the comments. A definite DON'T BOTHER!

5 comments about Siamese Cats (Complete Pet Owner's Manual).
- A MODERN KNOWLEDGIBLE CONCISE RESOURCE FOR HUMANS OWNED BY SIAMESE CATS. BEAUTIFULLY DONE PHOTOS MAKE LEARNING ABOUT YOUR CAT AN ESTHETIC EXPERIENCE.
THE "COVER CAT" IS A HIT, AS WE ARE OWNED BY A LILAC POINT MALE. FROM OUR EXPERIENCE, IT IS TRUE THAT THE LILACS ARE THE MOST QUIET AND AFFECTIONATE OF THE SIAMESE BREED.
- The book 'Siamese Cats (Complete Pet Owner's Manual)' is a good basic book on Siamese Cats. I was pleased with the quality of paperback edition and love the photo illustrations.
- Talked about different types of siamese the shape of their heads, colors. Also how their personalities are different from other types of cats. They are quite chatty. The book had some good information on Siamese and regular cat care.
- The material presented is well-presented for the average lay reader. It's a general over-view of Siamese cats, with a fairly extensive section on breeding.
I would have preferred for Collier's book to have dealt more with behavior and training. The two subjects receive some attention, just not enough.
- This book is a good introduction to Siamese cats. My version is somewhat dated as it still recommends FIP and FeLV vaccinations. It also doesn't describe the risks of rabies vaccines. I've yet to find a really good reference book for comprehensive feline health information. Cats often exhibit much more subtle symptoms than dogs. I also would like to find better information on issues relative to purebreds. The Cornell Book of Cats is a good next book, but I'm still searching for an advanced layperson's book.
