- Very pleased with this informational guide to buttons. Older book and price guide, but very useful for the button collector who is new to the trade
- I was so excited to receive my book about buttons! It has a great deal of information on where the buttons came from
how they were made and when they were made. The book also has a pricing chart at the back of the book for nearly all the types of buttons. Overall I would recommend this book to people who are
beginners in collecting buttons just like me. I collect only glass buttons and there is alot of information on this type.
Have fun with collecting and make sure to read this book!
- This was a great book for photos and history, price guide would have been extremly useful, learned a bit about buttons, yet having the prices laid out in front of me would have been a great benefit.
- I have always been drawn to buttons, but didn't know very much about them. This book has very clear photos and descriptions. There are many "museum quality" buttons that are wonderful to see, but I was especially excited to see everyday buttons that I am more likely to find.
- For a beginner, who knows nothing of buttons, I'm impressed with the depth of knowledge in this book. It's a must for collectors, or for those wanting to learn more about buttons.

5 comments about Tomart's 6th Edition DISNEYANA Guide to Pin Trading (Tomart's Illustrated Disneyana Catalog & Price Guide).
- This is a paperback book FILLED to capacity with pins and their description. The authors do a nice job categorizing the pins and providing codes for how much the pins are worth. There is also a nice guide in the beginning explaining the history of pins and what to look for when collecting them. I've referred to it many times. It's a great book to have as a reference.
- Being new to pin trading, this book provided value information as well as many pictures to identify the pins. Good reference for pin traders!
- I love disney I got this just to look at all the pins out there. Mote of a coffe table book than anything else. For only hardcore disney fans
- THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK. JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR CAME IN JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF TIME. HOPE TO DO BUSINESS WITH AGIAN
- For the most part, I like this tuna. I buy it because of the claim regarding low mercury. Some cans I open have a fishy taste and some are just fine. Otherwise, i would give it 5 stars. Can't imagine why some are fishy and some are not. Most of the time, the tuna tastes great and the fact that it is low mercury makes me want to keep the cans around so I can eat it often. We like to mix green/red peppers, onions, low fat miracle whip, and mustard with a can of this tuna, spread in on some thin lavash bread and bake it in the oven with some grated cheddar cheese on the top to make a tuna pizza. This is fantastic and better than it sounds. The Lavash bread makes a thing crispy pizza crust and everything together is just great. I currently have 12 cans of Wild Planet tuna in the cupboard, so I guess that means I like it pretty well.

3 comments about Warman's Buttons Field Guide (Warman's Field Guides).
- I am a new button collector and bought this book because I thought it would help explain what I have. Boy was I disapointed! I expected a well respected antique organization like Warman's to have an excellent product, in depth and examples of thousands! The book concentrates on the pedestrian variety of button, and has way too many glossy photos of these average types. I know the idea of a pocket size book is to be able to take it along with you on your buying trip and that is what the publishers were hoping for with this, but it wouldn't work that way, too heavy and chunky and again, info on common varities. The writer even noted that they didn't know what a back mark of CAEN was, even I knew it was a town in France. Have I said enough, or too much?
- This is a great book. Has a world of information. Tells a person everything you need to know about buttons. If you have several jars of old buttons as we have, this book is invaluable, the search is all the fun. Thanks, Bob
- I recently purchased "Warman's Buttons Field Guide", by Jill Gorski. I was disappointed with the format. Pictures were excellent at showing detail, however, because of the need to get that detail by enlargement, actual dimensions were lost. Those dimensions should have been noted in the text - ie, 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, 2 inches, etc. It would also have been helpful if the author had included time frames of production - ie, Late victorian, Early 1900s, 1950-1980, etc. I feel like I wasted my money.

5 comments about The Collector's Encyclopedia of Buttons (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- Although this book is considered "the Bible" on button collecting books, I was somewhat disappointed in it. There were very few color pictures, and the black and white photos were small. Somewhat cut and dry in text, but I've discovered that such books are hard to find, and this was the most extensive one I came across.
- This is a terrific book with in depth info on a wide variety of buttons. The reference bible for any button diva!
- This book is nice to look for pictures and information if you are interested in buttons . I am very happy with my purchase of the book. I would recomend it for a reference book on buttons.
- I found this book very informative and I learned a lot about buttons. I would have liked the pictures to be in color which would help me identify them. It will become my reference book.
- It would have been great if the photos were in color, this is something that makes looking and finding the buttons so much easier. Having color photos adds a lot.

- I ordered this book new from Amazon because I was looking forward to getting the miniature button that was supposed to be attached. There was no button attached. It's a cute miniature book but you may as well get it from one of the used sellers.
- This book may be tiny, but as a button collector, I found it to have some very interresting facts and beautiful buttons in an easy to read and fun format. It will make you want to collect buttons!!

- While I'm sure this is a helpful book for the serious and advanced collector, it isn't for the beginner, which I am. I didn't see anything in it's description that would have let me know that, so I wasted my money. I am not a collector and never will be; I'm just a beginner button sorter, breaking up big collections and selling individual buttons, pairs or sets.

5 comments about Beads of the World: A Collector's Guide With Price Reference.
- THIS GUY KNOWS BEADS. A GREAT REFERENCE BOOK, AND PRICE GUIDE.
- After 20 years working in Africa and collecting beads, I find this the best book of its type for people actually going into African markets, American bead shows, and flea markets looking to buy rare or collectible beads. It is not the right book for someone who doesn't yet know the basics about where and how the major types of beads are/were fabricated, how they have traveled, and the ethnographics associated with their past and present uses. (For those subjects, try Dubin, J. Allen, Liu, Picard, and Beckworth's Africa Adorned.) But for ballpark pricing, comparisons, and availability, there's nothing better in print.
- I boughtthis book for my mom - she was getting really into hunting for beads (and buttons but that's another story) at yard sales, antique stores etc. She didn't really know what she was buying - just what she liked - so I bought this book for her about a year ago and she has loved it ever since. There are a lot of pictures, descriptions and background info on the different types of beads. If nothing else, it has provided a good foundation for her in her hunt for more beads so she knows a little more about the types/styles to look for (in addition to just what she happend to like)
- AND THIS BOOK DIDN'T HELP ME UNDERSTAND THEM ANY BETTER. IT JUST CONFUSED ME MORE
- IS MY OPINION OF THIS BOOK. NOT ALL BEADS ARE PRICED AND NOT TOO INFORMATIVE.

- This book is like a trip to a miniature museum, with sculpture, paintings, collage, carving--only the art you're viewing is buttons! Fun button history and anecdotes. Gorgeous pictures. A wonderful reference for the serious button collector or art lover. The two authors of this book have traveled the world seeking out the beautiful and unusual in the button world.
- Loved the book which I already knew would be good as I had seen it at a convention. Condition was as stated. No complaints at all
- This is one of those books that I return to again and again. Absolutely gorgeous photographs of buttons through time... you'll be amazed at the variety and beauty of these little works of art! Antique/vintage buttons are a far cry from the simple little things you see today... they were status symbols and more than just a way of fastening clothes. Everything from (real) jewel-encrusted buttons and miniature portraits to astounding mosaics and miltary buttons concealing compasses... with bakelite Art Deco pieces, porcelain from Japan and Goodyear rubber in between. Diana Epstein and Millicent Saffro are true connoseurs, and their love of buttons is evident in every page of this wonderful coffee table book. It's an absolute marvel... thoroughly recommended!!

- I was looking for a book with examples of classic and vintage buttons. This book is perfect for inspiring ideas for your own button designs, packaging and promotion uses. I loved the book so much I bought it twice!!
- An interesting book for all counter-culture button fans. Advertising buttons have been around for years, especially prevalent during election time but the contents of this book are more to do with points-of-view rather than product pitching.
The five chapters with five hundred images (Decorative, Promotional, Packs, Websites and Art with ) cover the topical trends in a very visual way with the buttons presented as cutouts with a drop shadow. I thought the Art chapter rather intriguing with images created with dozens of buttons, each one has a bit of the overall picture. In the Promotional chapter, graphic designer Karen Jane has created a font based on the little bit of wire used in the back of all buttons.
The layouts are crisp and colorful and overall I thought this was a lovely little book, the square format helps too.
