4 comments about The Milk Glass Book (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- This book has great photography, all in color. It's just disappointing, given the title, that it does not include the kinds of pieces new collectors find and want to be able to look up. Instead, the authors are trying not to include glass which has already been documented in the out-of-print books from the 1950s-1980s.
However, the authors are highly respected members of the National Milk Glass Collectors society and this book is a great contribution they can be proud of.
(One more comment-- be aware that the Atterbury rabbit dish on the cover of this book is not included or discussed in any way in the book.)
- I liked the fact that it covers a wide range of styles and manufacturers. Not crazy having to refer to the back of the book for pricing. Too much work. Easy/cheap for the editor to update pricing but makes for disruptive reading.
- For my purposes this book was only mildly informational. A collector, who is looking for rare or scarce pieces may find this book more educational. By the author's own admission, their audience aim is not for the casual collector or the eager investor. As most of the pieces pictured are listed as rare or scarce I don't think the subjects will be useful for my collecting purposes.
What I found the most interesting about the book was the detailed descriptions of each of the pieces and the wonderful clear pictures accompanying them. The author would not only describe the piece, he would tell you who made the piece and how his conclusion was reached based on other pieces, which have been positively identified. Similar pieces were compared in many instances and subtle differences in designs were noted to educate the reader on how to identify reproductions from the original.
- The quality of the photographs is excellent. Large and clear photos give the reader a very precise view of the item. The descriptions leave no doubt as to what the item is. The references to reproductions of an item is extremely helpful. This is a long awaited book for any milk glass collector.

3 comments about Official Price Guide to Beer Cans, 5th Edition (Official Price Guide to Beer Cans).
- I just want to know when this book was published.
I have other books on beer cans but they are 7 to 15 years old. I just want to find a updated price book on beer cans. Can any one help me??
- This text was well organized and easy to use. Beer cans were seperated by state so cans of the same name could be distinguished by their particular brewery. Information seemed accurate and very helpful
- Cans are categorized by State, so you have to hunt through the entire book if you don't know what state the can is brewed in; this is a poor method of organization.

3 comments about Perfume, Cologne and Scent Bottles.
- This beautifully illustrated, concisely detailed descriptive book provides an incredible amount of information. The photos in particular enable the reader to recognise finer details and are a valuable research source for collectors. I recommend this book to art lovers and bottle collectors alike.
- Happy to add my approval to this as a "must have" for any serious collector and a worthwhile read for anyone contemplating starting a perfume and cologne bottle collection. LAM
- This book is full of lush color pictures of bottles many of us will never be able to afford but now we know what to look for! I really am glad I purchased this book and I have referred to it many times. I have made purchase based on information and discovered favorite styles of bottles. I understand that there is a newer version of this book and I have not seen that book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who collects perfume bottles. It is a great book to sit and look at and wish "..if only......."

5 comments about Bud Hastin's Avon Collector's Encyclopedia: The Official Guide for Avon Bottle and Cpc Collectors (Bud Hastins Avon Collectors Encyclopedia, 16th ed).
- I bought this book for several different reasons but mainly for Avon beer steins...most of which my husband has...and didn't get enough information from this book to really be able to price even one out of all that he has...My husband and I both agree that this book is short on information, details, and inventory. Really wish that I had not bought the book.
- I just received this book and was very disappointed.I have an older avon book with color pages and handy guide. This book had unclear, black and white pictures.Hard to use.I definately would not recommend this book for a collector.
- I was under the impression that the book had more of a variety of "collectibles" than shown. I have several items from the 60's to the late 80's that I could not find. The collectible I was most interested in finding was a set of 4 Birds from 1986. All 4 are stamped except one--the owl--does not have the year on the base.
- This book proved very helpful to me, but, there were some Avon items I have that I believe should have been in the book (alongside similar items), but, were not. I would suggest people buy this book if they have Avon items, but, remember that the book is not inclusive.
- This is a great book for collectors of AVON and Cape Cod Products. Recently used it to price a few items for sell on eBay.com. Only thing that would make the book better is if it where to contain color photos, rther than the black and white ones.

3 comments about The Duck Stamp Story: Art, Conservation, History : Detailed Information on the Value and Rarity of Every Federal Duck Stamp.
- I have never seen my husband so entralled by a book before. I can never get him to sit down for 5 seconds but on Christmas morning, he forgot the rest of his gifts and sat and read this book! I was amazed! It contains history with great pictures and facts and he was actually enjoying himself while reading it!
I highly recommend this book for any person interested in ducks, duck stamps or duck hunting.
- This book is beautiful, interesting, and a pleasure to read. I don't hunt, collect stamps or wildlife art, but this is a great book. I am truly enjoying it. I especially like the section on conservation, which details the history of water fowl degradation and protection in the United States.
- This is an incredible book for anyone who is interested in ducks, stamps, history, art, conservation, collectables, or Americana. There's the history of duck stamps as it relates to the entire conservation movement. There are interviews with famous people who are themselves duck stamp collectors and avid conservationists. There are beautiful photographs and artwork of past and present duck stamps, as well as other honorable mentions in the annual duck stamp contests. This book is just chock full of information and illustrations. The author has done a great job of wholistically researching the topic into every tangent of related interests. It is the ultimate coffee table book since there is something to interest just about anyone. You'll find that you meant to just browse through it, when before you know it you've read a whole chapter!

1 comments about Antique Glass Bottles : Their History and Evolution (1500-1850) - A Comprehensive Illustrated Guide With a Worldwide Bibliography of Glass Bottles.
- The publication of Willy's book marks a major milestone in the field of black-glass collecting. It is the first real effort at a comprehensive and authoritative guide on European bottles aimed at a broad English-reading audience worldwide. For years, collectors and others have waited for just such a book to appear. The numerous colour photos are outstanding. The text is clear, to the point, and easy to read. Any collector, no matter where he lives or what he collects, will, after reading the book, be able to pursue his passion in a much more informed way. I highly recommend the book, which should be on the book shelf of every serious bottle collector and student of historical glass containers.
