  1. I had only some very basic knitting skills before I bought this book, and had certainly never knitted on circular needles. This book has taught me how to knit and has already resulted in at least half a dozen hats in only a couple of months.

The book is clear, has a beautiful layout, lovely photography, great patterns and very easy-to-follow instructions. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning how to knit hats, or just how to knit in general. The patterns are also easy to adapt to adult sizes.

My only complaint is that some of the hats seem a little on the small side for the age group indicated, but once you know this, it is easy to change the pattern to fit. A definite five star rating.

  2. This book is awesome!! I love the patterns which are simple to follow and execute. The book even includes step by step techniques for every stitch used to make the hats. It gives yarn suggestions and is super easy to understand. I'm a beginner knitter and I've been able to make these hats no problem. The photos are awesome, super cute, and gives you a great reference to what the finished hat should look like!
Overall this is an awesome book to have in your knitting collection!!!!

  3. The pictures are adorable and the patterns are easy to follow, even for an advanced beginner like me. The book is well worth the money.

  4. The book was in perfect condition. The patterns are very cute and easy patterns. Quick project for an experienced knitter with variation possibilities. Great for a beginner.

  5. This is a wonderful book! It is perfect for beginners, but the projects certainly don't look like beginners made them! The pictures are so adorable (my 17 month old loves looking at them) and the book explains everything one needs to know to knit.

I wish I could give this product five stars, however, the Special Day Silk Hat, and the jester type hat (don't remember its title) have patterns that don't match the pictures. It's certainly easy to spot the mistakes and fix them when you've been knitting for a little while, however this oversite makes me rate it a little lower.

    But definately worth getting!

  1. Got this for my son for chirstmas last year. My son loves this book. The TY beanie baby Ming Ming is SO cute!!! He still plays with it and reads the book. :) Great price too!

  2. My 4 year old loved the beanie baby. The book is a very short version of the show. The pictures are nice, but if you haven't seen the show you might not understand the short amount of text. The book is a nice size for little hands to hold and to carry around.

  3. I was a little shocked how small the doll was. The book was also tiny. My son loved it though and, I guess that's all that matter's.

  4. The book and beanie are very cute, however, the book is very small and only a few pages.

  5. Very cute-for the Wonderpet fanatic. Very good price. Ming Ming small but nice. Small book but also cute..Good deal for the money..

  1. This is a horrible series with information that becomes outdated very quickly. Save your money and buy Beanie Babies, instead.

  2. I purchased this book to keep track of all of my investments, and it has done just that. It is a great book that gives you everything that a beanie babie collector needs to know. But on the downside, it has left out some of the prices for some strange reason. That's why it is only 4 *'s

  3. I loved it because it had a pocket planner inside, free, for no charge. It really gives kids an idea of how to become great collectors.

  4. This book is one of the main reasons my 3 daughters and I began collecting beanies. We did not know where to start in our search. This book made it so simple and enjoyable that we have become avid collectors and enjoy working together as a group. My daughters are 10, 8, and 6, thanks for giving us the ability to have a project together that we can enjoy. We never would have known what to do without this book. Even my 18 month old loves the pictures in this book and will cry if we take it away from him. It is teaching him his animals. See, this book has a multipurpose use!!!

  5. This is a perfect book for all the beanie infomation you need. I would recomend this book to everyone!

  2. I liked the book, but most of all I liked Ryan, the co-author of The Beanie Encyclopedia. I got a chance to meet him at a book signing while I was on vacation in Florida. He looks so cute in person. I LOVE YOU RYAN

  3. This book was great. No other Book has taught me so much. Thanks Dr. Carey and Ryan

  4. Absolutely wonderful. The authors really know their stuff. There isn't a more complete Beanie Anthology available anywhere! A perfect companion to my book.

  1. This is a good book. I personally think it is fun because when I was little I got to be in the short clip with all the kids talking about their beanie babies. It was a lot of fun for me, I still have the weiner dog part of the set!!

  2. That was my reaction after I took a glimpse at the cover of Encyclo-Beanie-a. The cover is just the icing on the cake, this amazing book is the best beanie book out there. Everything is great about it-- the pictures, content, presentation! A MUST HAVE for any beanie collector!

  1. I blew every last penny of my life-savings on this godforsaken fad. To add insult upon injury, I bought this book hoping it would rescue me from my lonely world of debt and failed marriages. Boy, was I wrong. Had I known that the Beanie Babies were destined to travel the same road as the Pet Rock and Crystal Pepsi, perhaps I would have reconsidered these careless financial decisions.

And I couldn't agree more with my fellow reviewer's ("A reader from danville ill") opinion of this book.

  2. This ia a great idea and I view it as a different product entirely from BBs, which are stuffed toys. If Ty is suing, I wish he would back off.

  3. where can i find new pages

  4. I bought "The Book" so I could keep track of what I have, the cost of each item, along with all the other info. Need supplements for new beanies! Was going to buy Teenie Beanies supplement, but why bother if I cannot get the others also.

  5. I invested alot of money in all your books and supplements, but us Beanie Collectors need to know when you will have supplements so we can bring our books up to date??

  1. I just got started collecting, and this book has given me all the background information on what to expect. It's impossible for any book to keep up to date with the actual Beanies, but you won't find a better guide to the hobby itself.

  2. Some many books on BBs are simply price lists or have a very limited period of usefulness. This one is different and will be my reference of choice. There is no way to predict what Ty will do, but this is the book that can track what has happened to date. The section on spotting counterfeits is invaluable and has saved me from making a couple of costly mistakes. I also got some chuckles from the creatively posed beanies in the nice color photos. Right after reading my own copy, I immediately sent a copy to my beanie-crazed young nieces.

  3. This book is a good attempt at being different from all of the other Beanie Baby books and guides. However, it is not that easy to read because the authors grouped the Beanies according to genre, not alphabetically. Black and white pictures were not all that useful. Some background information (but not a lot) sets this book apart from the rest of the pack. However, it makes little attempt at saying what makes a particular beanie baby popular or unpopular or with whom. A good guide to starting out in the hobby but not useful if you are already immersed.

  4. This is a great book about BEANIE BABIES! This is especialy good for beginner collectors. It teaches you special facts about the beanies and how to collect them. I think if you like beanie babies you should deffintly get this book!!!!!!!!

  5. I really liked this book because it had all kinds of odd information. There is more than 5 blurbs of different facts per page. It has how to avoid counterfits, facts about each beanie, and more. It even has a checklist with pictures. This is definatly the best Beanie Baby book I own. It is perfect for begginers and experienced Beanie collectors.
