  1. The pictures are adorable and the patterns are easy to follow, even for an advanced beginner like me. The book is well worth the money.

  2. The book was in perfect condition. The patterns are very cute and easy patterns. Quick project for an experienced knitter with variation possibilities. Great for a beginner.

  3. This is a wonderful book! It is perfect for beginners, but the projects certainly don't look like beginners made them! The pictures are so adorable (my 17 month old loves looking at them) and the book explains everything one needs to know to knit.

I wish I could give this product five stars, however, the Special Day Silk Hat, and the jester type hat (don't remember its title) have patterns that don't match the pictures. It's certainly easy to spot the mistakes and fix them when you've been knitting for a little while, however this oversite makes me rate it a little lower.

    But definately worth getting!

  4. i purchased this book several months ago and have fallen in love with it. it has given me lots of different ideas to use in my own hat making. and every single one of the hats is darling. that being said, of the hats i have knitted from the book, each one of the patterns contains at least one mistake. as an intermediate knitter, i have recognized the mistakes and am able to "fix" the pattern so i can achieve the desired end however, for a beginning knitter or one who is unfamiliar with hat patterns, i would find that very frustrating. overall, a great book to add to any pattern book library but with a few drawbacks...

  5. I saw a hat from this book (The Chocqua)in a yarn shop and was SO charmed by it, that I had to have the book. When I looked through the book and saw that I loved almost every hat, I could see visions of actually USING MY BABY HAT YARN STASH! Well, who knows if that will really happen, but I seriously could see using my stash to make multiple versions of each hat. I have made the Chocqua now, and two versions of the Accordion Hat, and have plans to try out different self-striping superwash yarns on many of the hats. I haven't had this much fun in a long time! I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking to do some unique and completely adorable hats for their children or grandchildren!

  1. Got this for my son for chirstmas last year. My son loves this book. The TY beanie baby Ming Ming is SO cute!!! He still plays with it and reads the book. :) Great price too!

  2. My 4 year old loved the beanie baby. The book is a very short version of the show. The pictures are nice, but if you haven't seen the show you might not understand the short amount of text. The book is a nice size for little hands to hold and to carry around.

  3. I was a little shocked how small the doll was. The book was also tiny. My son loved it though and, I guess that's all that matter's.

  4. The book and beanie are very cute, however, the book is very small and only a few pages.

  5. Very cute-for the Wonderpet fanatic. Very good price. Ming Ming small but nice. Small book but also cute..Good deal for the money..

  1. I've been "spring" cleaning this "summer" (haha) and came upon this particular Beanie Baby book; boy did it bring back fond memories of our hunt for beanie babies! I got rid of alot of books, but this (and my other Beanie Baby book by Les & Sue Fox) is staying! The recipes are precious with the appropriate beanie baby representing it, for example, BONES PAINTED SUGAR COOKIES - there's a colorful picture of several beanie baby dogs, Bones, Rover + others. It also includes the nutritonal facts for each recipe. Each recipe has a beautiful color photo on the right hand side of the book and the recipe is on the left. You will love this book! I did (do)!!

  2. Hi. It's been 10 years since Sue and I published the first edition of The Beanie Baby Handbook. The third and final edition (the cookbook) was published in 1998. In case you're wondering, we've attempted to publish an up to date book but Ty will not give us permission. (???) In looking over the Amazon listing, and people's comments, first, they made a mistake on the number of pages. This is a 218 page book, not a 40 page book. Each of the 52 recipes is a 2-page color spread with amazing photos created by Jeanette Long (still our neighbor and friend here in Wyckoff, New Jersey). Jeanette actually cooked, baked or prepared all of those foods, and brought them to a world class food photography studio. Kids and families love Jeanette's recipes, and in my opinion this is not only a wonderful book about Beanie Babies, it's one of the best kids' cookbooks ever published. Anyway, Sue and I are still incurable collectors. We are professional American art and rare coin dealers (19th & 20th Century), we build custom homes, and we manufacture a neat little calorie counter that you may see on TV in December or January. We've also developed a new product called Rare Coin Trading Cards, which we hope to launch as soon as we set up a national distribution system. We published Beanie Baby trading cards in 1998, but Ty asked us to stop when they began publishing their own cards. (Darn.) Beanie Babies were a big part of our life in 1997 and 1998, and I don't think we'll ever have another experience like that again. Although we did create a unique collectible known as autographed coins with two former U.S. Presidents (Ford and Bush) in 2001 and 2002. One of the reasons I posted this message is to tell the many people who write to us that we cannot publish a new edition of The Beanie Baby Handbook without written permission, or a license, from Ty. In 1997, they allowed us to publish the Unofficial edition, but that ended in 1998. Les and Sue Fox

  3. i had this book back as a child and after giving it a way years ago, i remembered recently what cute recipes it had in it so decided to get another copy! it was such a bargain and there's so many different cute ideas perfect for parties and many other occasions!

  1. I blew every last penny of my life-savings on this godforsaken fad. To add insult upon injury, I bought this book hoping it would rescue me from my lonely world of debt and failed marriages. Boy, was I wrong. Had I known that the Beanie Babies were destined to travel the same road as the Pet Rock and Crystal Pepsi, perhaps I would have reconsidered these careless financial decisions.

And I couldn't agree more with my fellow reviewer's ("A reader from danville ill") opinion of this book.

  2. This ia a great idea and I view it as a different product entirely from BBs, which are stuffed toys. If Ty is suing, I wish he would back off.

  3. where can i find new pages

  4. I bought "The Book" so I could keep track of what I have, the cost of each item, along with all the other info. Need supplements for new beanies! Was going to buy Teenie Beanies supplement, but why bother if I cannot get the others also.

  5. I invested alot of money in all your books and supplements, but us Beanie Collectors need to know when you will have supplements so we can bring our books up to date??

  1. For the Love of Beanie Babies is the perfect book for anyone looking for good information of the first (early) beanie babies. It has great pictures and very interesting facts about the beanies that made up the first 5-6 years of collecting. This is a must for the serious collector that wants to go back to the beginning.
