1. I have long held a great fascination for the use of Rock crystal in decorative objects, but never found a book that focused so extensively on this often-overlooked material. "Rock Crystal Treasures from Antiquity to Today" is therefore a great find. While there are numerous titles available that explore crystals from the mystical or scientific standpoint, "Rock Crystal Treasures" provides a wonderful overview of beautiful objects made from rock crystal. Jewelry, vases, religious objects, clocks, chandeliers and other decorative items are shown.
   
   Lavishly illustrated with many large clear photos accompanied by insightful text, the book provides a wonderful resource for designers, jewelers or anyone with an interest in rock crystal quartz objects. It is inspirational to see so many items crafted from this translucent stone, worked and sculpted into pieces of such enduring beauty. I found the authors text to provide a great deal of useful details regarding both the historic and modern production of rock crystal. A beautiful book and a great addition to my design reference library.

1. This small book contains a great deal of data for the print collector. Very informative comprehensive view of print-making, from identification to cleaning and repair. Includes easy-to-understand printmaking terms and definations throughout the book. Excellent organization, with complete table of contents and index. Obviously written by a passionate collector and instructor.



2. Although the artwork examples are dated, this book is a terrific resource for print collectors and those interested in preserving paper in general. Written in a very clear and logical approach, the chapters detail the history, lore, collecting, and conservation of prints in an easy to read fashion. What I enjoyed most is the "examples" section, made up of moderately priced (no Picasso lithos or Rembrandt etchings) contemporary prints, mostly from UK artists. This book is serious about printmaking and conservation.
   
   There should really be a second edition of this book for the new millennium since there are new conservation methods and techniques for printmaking.

1. As a collector of American Folk Art I always wondered what guided my purchases. Only now do I understand, through the collector's and the author's eyes, that I too have focused on the Spiritually Moving. Anyone who would like to view one of the finest private collections would appreciate adding this table top book to his/ her library.



2. Spritually Moving, a Collection of American Folk Sculpture, produced by Harvey Kahn and Tom Geismar accomplishes in one book what decades of collecting often never achieves. To blur the line between American Folk Art, Contemporary and Fine Art is the ultimate lesson.
