1 comments about Drafting Scenery for Theater, Film and Television.
- I used this book as part of a class I took in college. It is a fairly decent text with easy-to-grasp concepts, but the illustrations seem a bit cluttered. Good for beginner to intermediate drafters. Great price.

2 comments about Donna Dewberrys Quick & Easy Murals.
- Very well written and demonstrated. Lots of different projects make the book pretty well rounded and a value
- A great book for those who want to start painting on the walls. While if doesn't show a beginner color worksheets on every element it is great for the intermediate to advanced beginner. There are hundreds of step-by-step photos. The projects that take the most painting skill are the borders. Donna shows you how to paint six wall borders using photos showing step by steps. The four wall murals give a great effect and are truly quick and easy. And then she shows two wall treatments that will show you that you never need to use wall paper again. It is so much easier to repaint than to strip wallpaper. For the more advanced or highly motivated painter Donna has included a section on starting you own Mural business. This book shows you can be a do it yourself muralist.

5 comments about Fantasy! Cartooning.
- please, can you tell me what about with my purhase? because I don't get it yet
- I love Ben Caldwell's style, and after lapping up "Action Cartooning," I bought this one. Fantastic book! More great character designs. Man I love his stuff. Sometimes his comments are a little weird ("Sidhe had smaller arm sockets than mortals...the shoulder was still the thickest part of the arm...") Like, I don't know if there's a particular *way* to draw a Sidhe or if you draw a Sidhe with thicker arms it's suddenly not a Sidhe or whatever...but the drawings are so good that that doesn't bother me. Fantastic book. Fiiiiiive stars.
- Well, i've recently bought this item, but i didn't find the book, or the special papers inside. I've only got a few colored pencils.
I tried to contact amazon but i get no answer.
I think i've ben stolen. For me, this is a very expensive colored pencils box.
Don't buy this item, it has no book.
- I love to draw as a hobby and am constantly trying to improve. This book is an excellent resource for those who are just getting started and for those who want a kick in the inspiration department! The artwork and writing work well together. I cannot wait for the next book!
- Ben Caldwell is one of the best in the industry, and all of the great things he does come through in this book. His rough-stage illustrations provide some insight to the process of creation of the various subjects, and the detailed explanations assist with supporting details for the figures. His tips and pointers, sprinkled throughout the book along the way, demonstrate the author's breadth of knowledge and fantastic skills. While the style is distinctively Ben Caldwell's the information is easily adaptable to any style and the information provided will improve anyone's artwork. A terrific investment, and one of the books I keep at my nightstand for review.

3 comments about And Fork: 100 Designers, 10 Curators, 10 Good Designs.
- I have a very large collection of architecture and design books including Phaidon's ULTRA huge "Atlas Of Contemporary World Architecture" and never had any problems. I was very shocked at the the binding issue and contacted Phaidon directly. There was never a resolution or an answer if my book was an isolated quality issue. Disappointing.
- For me as a photo-artist this is a book that really
inspires me!
- This book is a very inspiring book on new designers all over the world. It gives every designer a few pages with different products and a short charactarization of his/her work. Innovative use of new materials, surprising products and beautiful photographs. The only thing I would love is more detailed drawings of products and/or constructions.

5 comments about All-City: The Book About Taking Space.
- It was a gift that I had no problem finding here and could not find in book stores in my area
- For a book of throwups, this book was pretty good. I enjoyed it, although if you write, some of the "how to" stuff is nothing new.
- I thought it was going to focus more on graffiti as an art and not just about tagging. I am more interested in it as an art and how it has affected the graphic design and art since its beginnings. This book seems to glorify graffiti as a crime than appreciate it for what it is.
- Good book for those who practice and entertain the thought of going all-city. I appreciate most the interviews.
- As a graffiti writer I love this book. If I wasn't a graffiti writer, I would still love this book. This book covers it all! It explains everything from a tag to piece, and everything in between. It puts everything you ever wanted to know about graffiti in one simple book. So if you love graffiti like I do, then this is a great book to add to your collection. If you know nothing about graffiti, buy this book and you will have the knowledge to pass-off as a writer. But remember, just having knowledge won't get you ups or props!!! Keep it real.

4 comments about Frida Kahlo Postcard Book (Collectible Postcards).
- My mom got me this postcard book for Christmas. The postcards are lovely. They are pictures of Kahlo's artwork and even pictures of herself. I need to buy this because I love the pictures too much to give them away!
- This book contains 22 postcards featuring 17 full-color popular works of art as well as 5 photographs of the artist herself. The compilation of images consists of self-portraits, still life, surreal scenes and black & white and color photographs. Painting dates, titles, size and medium are printed on the back of each card. Painting titles are in English and Spanish. Cards are 4½" x 6¼" and are suitable for framing.
- These card's are exquisite and I intend to frame them in a grouping on the wall. This is truly an amazing woman, the life and time's of which would make an interesting film.
Frida Kahlo lived in the times of great upheaval in Mexico. And went thru much pain and suffering, due to illness and a tragic accident. I am readin one of her biography's written by Haden Herrera, and it is great, in that is is based on letter's she wrote to her school chum and boyfriend. ciao yaaah 69
- The most wonderful person ever, her life story has to be the most inspiring one to any young girls who would like to change their path and get on the right direction to a bright and happy life. I would recommend this book to any one and we all can learn from her struggle life and look at our own.

3 comments about Paint Along with Jerry Yarnell Volume Three - Painting Magic (Paint Along With Jerry Yarnell, Vol 3).
- I just got back from one of Jerry's workshops and am amazed at how much I feel that I learned. I bought this book at the workshop and it is excellent. It follows Jerry's method of step by step instructions with a photo of what the canvas should look like at each stage.
Jerry's workshop followed the same procedure except we could ask questions and get Jerry to help us over rough spots.
I've bought lot's of art books trying to find something that will help me. Jerry's books fill the bill perfectly! You can't go wrong with them.

- Excellent book! Very detailed step by step instructions for each painting right down to colors to mix and brushes to use. Highly recommended.
- This book is a welcome addition to the vast repository of teaching materials by Jerry Yarnell. The paintings are more intricate and challenging than in the previous two books. There are moody seas and skies, dramatic cliffs, serene settings, quaint buildings, and birds, elk and a variety of wildlife in the compositions. The step by step instructions are comprehensive, with excellent and detailed color photos of each step. Mr. Yarnell does a terrific job of reiterating and expanding on the fine art techniques that form the basis of all of his teaching material. If you are looking for an instructional painting book that is beyond the beginners level, then you should find this book inspirational, challenging and fun.

1 comments about Symbolism (Big Art S.).
- Modern Art has often been understood as a progression from (somewhere, roughly around) the slashing strokes of Frans Hals, to the atmospheres of Turner and Monet, to the Fauves, to Matisse's dissolution of perspective, exacerbated by the Cubists, and ultimately to the abstract expressionists, with Dada as the inflection point to complete and utter nihilism. Towering, arbitrary, disassociative works, archly typified by Barnett Newmann, were the logical conclusion of that reduction.
Compared to that march of 'progress', Symbolism might seem recidivist or quaint at first sight, for its naturalism and pagan spirituality. Symbolism, Michael Gibson explains, is related in part to the Arts and Crafts movement, but also to Pre-Raphaelism, to the last vestiges of Catholicism in rural France, Art Nouveau, and mysticism, with a home in the music of the late Romantics.
And yet even with its emphasis on natural beauty and radiance, the disassociation is already evident in images of Ophelia, cemeteries, and abandoned idylls. People can't interact and are reduced to the decorative plane. The irony was that even in naturalism and escapism, artists were bumping up against issues of disassociation, like other currents of Modern Art.
To my mind, the Symbolist aesthetic finds its way into the late 20th century through rock music. This too was an art of long hair, physical beauty, and fantasy. For reviving this Symbolic/Romantic aesthetic and celebrating it with a book, Michael Gibson has contributed something valuable to art historiography.

- This is a great resource. I'm a graphic designer and have been looking for full color illustrations of flowers and fruit like this for a while. Lots of online stock photo/illustration sites sell similar artwork for anywhere from $75-250 each. Here you get a large variety for under $20.
- This is an excellent printing of just what I needed. I use these images for decoupage and they are great!
