5 comments about AutoCAD 2009: A Problem Solving Approach.

1. This book is great. Those who have a graphic mind and know what they want to do but do not know the commands nor the variables will find this book gives quick solutions to do the processes they want to do. I have looked at a lot of books but this one stands out from the rest. When I want to do something in CAD, I check the book and find it quickly, the explanations are concise, and I get it done.



2. I am a mechanical engineer & recently joined a design company . A colleague highly recommended Sham Tickoo's book, but I was a bit sceptical initially as I read a couple of not so good reviews at this site. The book has however put all doubts at rest. It is a wonderful book put together with a lot of thought and understanding. The style is so interactive, sometimes I felt I was actually being taught in a classroom! It's a great buy and I would recommend it to all AutoCad students. Well done Sham & Co.



3. I am using this book for customizing AutoCAD and have found this book very useful in my work. It has thoroughly explained the functions and applications of advanced AutoCAD. Highly recommended for advanced users.

This book illustrates a good method of using the Autocad software and should be recommended to all students for its easy approach and willingness to include all the parameters involved without making unnecessary jumps and yet keeps a steady approach without getting monotonous. Must read for all students of AutoCAD



5. I am a basic user for AutoCAD and have found this book very helpful. It is a comprehensive book covering almost all the aspects of AutoCAD. The examples have made the concepts very easy to understand.

1. This serie is absolut outstanding, You will love it if your are a hardcore fan of the simple expression of complex thoughts in good architectur.

1. This is the first book I've read on functional verification not to talk about whitebox/blackbox blah blah, but all useful and practical tricks/best practices. I've just finished a systemverilog DV project with Mike. I joined the project half-way. I would say it was so easy for me to pick up the verification code and got up to speed. Lots of the tricks talked in the book were applied to this project, such as the logging output format, irritator, the "dance", directory structure, listener connection... The environment was done in a very neat and adaptable way.
   
   Personally I believe C++ is going to excel in the long run in the DV field. Because there is basicly no limitation on what you can do with C++. You have better control than with the current proprietary and sometimes arcane HVLs.
   
   I highly recommend this book to intermediate to advanced DVer.

1. This book is more geared towards mechanical drafting rather than architectural drafting. But nonetheless it's a good book for referential purposes.



2. This books is better than the autodesk manual for showing you how to draw with AutoCAD and some of the drawing features. If you are looking for a book that explores how to customize AutoCAD using LISP, VBA or ObjectARX look elsewhere.



3. This is a great book and has come in handy now that I know AutoCAD but it was a little too difficult for me to start with. My teacher showed me a much easier book "Exercise Workbook for Beginning AutoCAD 2002" by Shrock Publishing. You can review it on their website. It made learning AutoCAD very simple. Also, why are these books so expensive. ...



4. This is an excellent book. It's a well-written exposition of many (perhaps all) features of AutoCAD 2002.

   If you already use AutoCAD and are looking for a reference in which to look up advanced features as the need arises, this book would be an excellent choice.

   If you're new to AutoCAD and are learning from scratch, this book might be an excellent choice. It contains about 300 clearly described sequential excercies which walk you through many (perhaps all) features of AutoCAD 2002. After you finish, you'll be a proficient user. But expect to invest a substantial amount of time (perhaps 3 weeks full-time).

   If you're learning from scratch and just want to invest a couple of days to learn the basic features and then jump in, you might want to look for a shorter book. The first 5 chapters purports to do this, but it doesn't do it well in my judgment.




5. I mostly use this book as a reference. Every time I have searched for a particular command or topic I have found it; and clearly explained. I highly recommend it either as a reference book or as a step by step guide to thoroughly learn AutoCad 2002.

1. Es muy agradable poder contar con un texto que contenga una descripción completa de la mayoría de las tipologías y sistemas estructurales disponibles en el abanico del diseñador. Es una herramienta fundamental para orientar al estudiante contribuyendo a la formación de un "criterio" profesional de selección. Para el profesional es un manual de consulta permanente. Para el profesor un auxiliar muy valioso para la enseñanza-aprendizaje del comportamiento estructural. Como docente de facultad de arquitectura y profesional del diseño estructural considero que es un texto para tener muy a mano tanto en la bilbioteca personal como en la de las Universidades.
