  1. This book shows a lot of fine images of what a "hideaways" hut looks like. But I did't find any further drawings that can give me more helps...

2 comments about The Goddess Home Style Guide: Divine Interiors Inspired by Aphrodite, Athena, Atemis, Demeter, Hera, Hestia, and Persephone.

  1. I enjoy (and I use present tense as this is a book that keeps on giving)reading the commentary in this book as well as being inspired by its gorgeous pictures. Truly a creative work that has given me several ideas on how to evoke the Goddess in my own dwelling, particularly Aphrodite's bath and bedroom collection. A cost effective section could enhance the text a bit for those of us unable to decorate on a grand scale, but that may take away from its grandeur. Overall I feel this is a good investment if you are searching for ideas on how to decorate your home a hint of divine in all you see.

  2. Interesting but I thought it would have a little quiz you could take to see which goddess you are! I know I am an Aphrodite but I doubt if most women would automatically know which goddess they are. So other than that which I hope the author will add in upcoming editions I loved the book. Great photos.

1 comments about The Illustrated AutoCAD 2004 Quick Reference (Illustrated AutoCAD Quick Reference).

  1. It's a quick and easy guide to all the commands and functions you'll use in AutoCAD 2004. Alphabetical listings make it easy to find whatever I'm looking for, and cross-references also help if that command isn't exactly the right one for what I need to do. (which helps me a lot as a semi-beginner!) But I can see how even very advanced AutoCAD users would benefit from the format of this book, especially when it comes to commands that are new to 2004. Icons, great descriptions, pictures of dialog boxes, and shortcuts are also very helpful.

Even though I've only had this book a few weeks, I've already used it more than enough to make it well worth buying!

2 comments about Virtual Clothing.

  1. Well I was looking for a text to help me put some realistic looking clothing in a game I want to make. I don't think this is the right text. While it has many chapters on collision detection and even one on numerical integration, it seems to be high level, abstract and somewhat vague about implementation. There is absolutely no source code, just some pseudo pseudo code snippets. I have a feeling I could find info more useful to me on the web in Siggraph proceedings. This book seems to be meant for fashion designers who want to use the computer to see what their clothing would look like before hiring a seamstress and a supermodel.

  2. I think this is a great software program though i do not own it now or will ever i should

1 comments about FOBA: Buildings.

  1. This compact monograph (2x17.5x23.5cm) is handsomely designed inside and out. FOBA's projects are well documented with photographs and many well drawn 3d renderings. This book will interest those who want to know about the progressive, experimental architects in Japan today and how their poetic solutions to design are implemented in a visually cluttered context.

1 comments about Using AutoCAD: An Introduction to Computer-Assisted Design for the Theatre.

  1. I was excited to see an AutoCAD book specificaly for theatre. The excitement was short lived. Unfortunately I found the book out of date. I am using AutoCAD 2000i. This book is a reference for R12-14. The command buttons and dialog windows are different from R2000i. The tutorials used are similar to other CAD books. The emphasis is on learning specific commands. There is no reference to theatre drafting until the later chapters. It would be great if the book had screen shots of the drafting exercises, so you can reference to what you are drawing. A rethink of the exercise headings is needed, from Excerise 1- Printing a file to EX #1- Drawing a flat. Students need to relate the use of CAD to theatre drafting early on. The book comes with a useful CD-Rom of sample files and an instrument library. Overall, I Think Mr. Decuir has good start for a book. I hope the both of us can keep up with changes that Autodesk will introduce in the future.
