1. It's really difficult to describe Daniel Libeskind's works when he doesn't profess himself to be an architect & yet, claiming that he's not a non-architect either. So, what is he? Anyway, his work is very abstract & cerebral. Daniel is a very eclectic & talented individual, with degrees in music, mathematics, architecture & upon submitting his pieces for competitions, he actually used music sheet! Then, he questioned if the outcome of the competitions was decided by a panel of jury, & was that the rite thing to do. In many instances, readers might feel that we're getting somewhere in understanding his works & subsequently, a curveball would be thrown & we would end up just as confused as when we first started. Suffice to say that he's an urban planner, looking at the overall picture, believes in evolution of designs which would benefit future generations. He argued that his high profile work for the connection between the Berlin Museum & the Jewish Museum might be nicknamed "zigzag" but in actuality, in real life, its presence conveys something otherwise. If readers could look beyond his supposedly desconstructive work, he's in fact a traditionalist & a realist. Daniel is forever arguing with himself & there's nothing more enjoyable to him than engaging in discussions. I wish that there were more pictures of his works but most of them were taken in a hurry, or that they were pictures of models. There were also descriptions of some kinds of his modern art works & sculptures (or machines)? The writings at the end of the book is intensive reading, but there's undeniable of Daniel's depth & it's about time someone of his calibre racks up the architecture world with his avant-garde thinking. Other projects worth reading here are Alexanderplatz, Berlin; The Spiral: Extension to the Victoria & Albert Museum; Jewish Community Centre & Synagogue, Duisburg; & so forth. Not for the faint-hearted but highly recommended.



2. Fans, just for fans,ONLY for those who had a previous approach to libeskind's work. (results as to much for first-timers) advanced desconstruction followers will feel satisfied of owning this piece. The "plus" comes in the writings, the way they are writen is pure and simple "congruence" something worth to be digested.

1. The profession of Architects is no longer that of the omnipotent beneficent; in fact it never has been, except in the reflections of our inflated egos. Habraken reminds us of this in this book, and makes a sincere appeal for architects to wake up to the reality that our profession is but a part of. He distinguishes Architecture (as what we all know it as) from the Field, which is an autonomous and ubiquitous built environment with all its life that exists and grows without the need of architects and planners. This Field is what the architectural profession has to reckon and carefully integrate with.

1. The book is not about the Architecture of Old Mexico. Rather it is an assembly of old pictures and postcards with no story, only captions. A total , complete, and absolute lack of substance unless you like looking at old postcards.
   
   The book should be called a picture and postcard collection of old Mexican scenes.

1. The book introduces German talented structural engineer:Jorg schlaich and his office's work.
   The work ranges from super-long span bridge, or tiny, but state-of-art footbridge, solar power system and so on.
   The book covers his early career:Munich Olympic stadium, to most recent work like Frank Gehry's DG Bank Berlin.
   Especially, in my opinion,arch-shaped bridge (pathway has curved plan) is most significant one.
   If you want to know most up-to-date structural technique, this is the one.
   Regrettably,explanation for each project is not long enough because of much number of projects.

1. Take Koolhaas's content minus the content. This book is all flash and dance with no substance. From front to the back the book is laced with images. They definately chose quantity over quality. This book offers very little information about the library. It talks more about the history of the collections in the library than the actually library and the architect's thought behind the library. You are not missing much passing up on this book. Huge dissapointment. You can get more information on this work by finding any magazine that briefly talks about the building
