5 comments about Fundamentals of Building Construction: Materials and Methods.
- Arrived quickly and in great condition. Box could have used some stuffing such as foam or bubble wrap. Otherwise great choice.
- it has real pictures explaining the details and materials not just 2d line drawings. great book
- This is the best resource for someone who's starting to study for the ARE tests, and for the profession in general, and for anyone related or making GOOD CONSTRUCTION. It's totally worth the price, because its a hardbook cover and you will use it for the rest of your life.
- This is an amazing book and a very pleasant to read and look into the diagrams and figures. This is a must for any Architect and designer to understand the issue of constructibility and structural erection.
Also it is an excellent text book, sophisticated yet easy to comprehend.
- The book could have gone into greater depth about reinforcing steel and formwork for concrete but these are minor drawbacks in an otherwise really helpful book which is a must for the budding architect and construction engineer or indeed for anyone working in the construction industry. This volume covers each aspect of building construction in quite a bit of detail. The illustrations are superb. The best I've seen for a book on this material for this price range.

5 comments about The Codes Guidebook for Interiors.
- This book is an invaluable resource for any designer who can't get their hands on a copy of the IBC. I used this for studying the NCIDQ and also when I needed to find something quicker than going to the IBC. The information and tables comes from the IBC but you should always reference the IBC to make sure the information has not been changed.
Great book. I used the previous edition in college and had everything tabbed because I used is so much.
- This book is very simple to read & understand, and makes learning the codes so much easier. has many tables, and graphs to quickly layout the rules. Great for reference!
- The book came in great condition, I edge of the cover was bent, but could have easily happened during shipping.
- I guess there was a malfunction with something but I purchased the book then received an email saying that it was going to someone else. then received an email saying that it was being shipped. then received an email saying that it was not coming and my money was going to be given back to me.
- A must have for Interior Design Students. This book has been helpful to me so far in school.

4 comments about Building Codes Illustrated: A Guide to Understanding the 2009 International Building Code.
- So far, so good ...is much easier to retain and understand than trying to read the International Building Code Book by itself.
- Any college-level architecture or construction library will find the 2009 edition of Building Codes Illustrated a fine guide to the 2009 International Building Code and its concepts. Builders, engineers, interior designers and any industry professional will find this packs in an illustrated, simple coverage of the code to enhance an actual copy of the code itself. From exit-access design requirements to ducts and air transfer openings, the visual drawings provide outstanding interpretation and access of the code's real-world applications in a solid reference for any college-level or professional builder's collection.
- The graphic diagrams are a real help in trying to visualize issues like egress. I refer my architecture school students to this book frequently when they need to get a quick understanding of life safety or accessibility issues related to their designs. This book is a real help for almost any architect whether they are at the beginning of their career or seasoned professionals looking for a refresher.
- Building codes Illustrated, while easy to comprehend, is an unnecessary "add-on" to any architectural library.
Better to own Architectural Graphic Standards and buy the Handbook of Universal Building codes as a supplement.

5 comments about 2009 International Building Code: Softcover Version.
- This is a reasonably priced building code in a nicely bound book. I HAVE to have a code for work and the Amazon price was the most exciting part.
Not your relaxing read but informative.
Amazon, thanks for the price break...I'll be back.
- The International Building Code. Pretty much speaks for itself. Again, I buy from Amazon because of the excellent customer service and quick turnaround.
- what can you say about a code book. amazon had it at a better price than school and received it within a week of order. no problems.
- Ordered the set for work. This is the least expensive price I found and free shipping.
- I ORDER THIS ITEM LAST SEPTEMBER 24 AND NO IDEA WHEN I WILL HAVE MY BOOK. THIS IS A BASIC BOOK-CODE FOR ANALYSIS AND DESIGN.

4 comments about Architectural Graphic Standards, Student Edition (Ramsey/Sleeper Architectural Graphic Standards Series).
- It is a vey Condensed Copy of the original one. It is a kind of disappointment for me when I got the delivery.
Try to buy the original one not the student version...
- This a much cheaper yet still useful version of the architect's bible. Any person who designs space should have either this or the unabridged edition.
- I was displeased with the description of the item in relation to the final product i recieved.
- At less than $40 for a used copy, the Student Edition can't be beat, as it provides most of the essential information from the complete Graphic Standards. The information is organized along the lines of Masterspec with additional sections on Energy and Environmental Design and Historic Preservation. It is certainly enough to get you started. It is also important to have relevant code books. Ching's Building Codes Illustrated is a good place to start. It is nice to have so much building construction information consolidated into one book.

- Happy with the book and how quickly it arrived. Love the promtness! Thanks.
- I got this book well before I thought I was going to and it was in amazing condition :)
- If I had to keep but one reference book on my shelf as a Professional Interior Designer, this would be the book. It contains in-depth and well-formatted information on virtually every subject in the field, and the graphics are outstanding. One of the authors, Maryrose McGowan, is a powerhouse and has done a remarkable job with this guide and I hope she comes out with many other useful books to advance the profession. This book has quickly replaced several books I previously owned that attempted to do what this book has done with great simplicity, completeness, and accuracy.
The chapters are well-organized, the graphics are abundant, clear, and easy-to-understand, and they contain information from all ends of the spectrum. The price tag of the book is steep, but well worth the investment. Save your pennies and make a point of buying this book, or look for used versions as they come available on Amazon.com. You will be glad to have this book in your collection!
- This book is very helpful for upcoming designers. It gives you standard codes for everything you could imagine. Very helpful when doing my design projects.
- If your an Interior Designer or practicing to be one this book should be amongst the many in your personal library. The details are well written and displayed.

5 comments about Human Dimension and Interior Space: A Source Book of Design Reference Standards.
- I didn't actually see the book. I bought it for my daughter who is in college and had it sent directly to her, but she said it was great! It was a good buy!
- I bought this book for school. It's redundant and some portions don't make much sense. But anyone trying to design a space that is functional and takes human size and shape into account should take a look at this book.
- Ideal for the Architect, Interior Designer, Furniture Maker and Cabinet Maker.
This book is a valuable resource to those that produce items for direct interface with human beings. It covers almost every type of human interaction that might need to be considered for the vast majority of common applications, as well as the direct human measurements that would need to be considered for the application. Measurement tables are well laid out and easy to use after a brief familiarization period, and the suggestions given for most applications is explained well enough that one can, with relative ease, apply the information to situations that may not be explicitly covered in the text of the book.
Measurements are given in both Metric and Imperial systems.
Diagrams are helpful for understanding the reasoning behind each measurement suggested.
If you need a general reference for direct human measurement and interaction with other people and objects, I would recommend this book.
- I am currently in design school and I will say that this is one book you will reference all the time and should be in everyone's library!
- As a new designer, I find this book very helpful and intriguing. It goes through the basic standards of human dimensions separating each chapter into antrhopometric dynamics and functions. Currently I'm in the Seating Measurement section and I had no idea about the amount of calculations involved in the act of sitting. Though this book was written in the 1970's, the information inside this book is still relevant for today. It's easy to grasp and it has many diagrams, tables, and figures to visually explain the content. Well organized book; very researched.

5 comments about Materials, Structures, and Standards: All the Details Architects Need to Know But Can Never Find.
- it came when it said it would and is just what i wanted. there was nothing wrong with the book it was in perfect condition
- My son is getting his masters in architecture. This book is a must have in his opinion.
- I bought this book last year when I started architecture grad school hoping it would be a one-stop resource for grad-level studio courses and it has been an OK resource. It is very well organized and covers a lot of basic, very handy, information: nominal material dimensions and standards, wood joinery, explains board feet and plywood grades, steel shapes in section & and how to interrupt what a W8x67 means, stair tread & risers guidelines, parking configurations, drawing set standards and abbreviations, and some detailing, code and structural basics. The problem for me is that I bought this book two years late, as I picked up a lot of this information the hard way in undergraduate school (B.S. architectural studies). I have now found myself using my classmate's copy of The Architect's Studio Companion (and have now bought myself a copy) more than this book as it covers structural, systems, and egress rules of thumb with much more depth.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone starting an undergrad architecture program or grad program w/o prior experience. There is a whole lot of good, basic architectural info in this book that will make life a little easier, but it lacks the depth to be a solid resource at a graduate level.
- I know it says all the details an "Architect" needs to know, but I'm studying Landscape Architecture and I had to buy my own copy because my Architecture neighbor was tired of retrieving her copy off of my desk.
- It is perfect for engineers who would like to add a little bit of architectural touch to their documentation.

5 comments about Time-Saver Standards for Interior Design and Space Planning, 2nd Edition.
- I bought this book in college because it was part of my required text for my degree in Interior design. I have been out of school for 4 years and I still keep it at my desk or nearby when I am doing drawings. I recommend this book to anyone who is in the design industry. The details and information in this book saves the designer from having to go through multiple books looking for specific details.
- This is a great reference book for designers and architects. It arrived very timely,in excellent conditions and I could not ask for a better price.
- This book is packed with info on furniture design, drafting tips, and use of theme for virtually every type of space. Perfect for students! Accompanied by plenty of illustrations to reference.
- This textbook was required for my Basic Drafting class. It was cheaper to go through Amazon than my school's bookstore. I recieved the textbook in great condition and in time for class to start. Very happy with this seller.
- HUGE ASSET! This book has everything in it and has been extremely helpful. It is a big book, therefore, it is not easy to carry around. I take it to school occasionally-I have chosen to lug it around in a rolling cart--most helpful for all those books and drawing tools, etc. One downside, sometimes the print is so small you may have to have a magnifying glass to see what is written.
Purchasing this book on Amazon saved me a lot of money. I highly recommend this book for Interior Design students and Designers.
