5 comments about Fundamentals of Building Construction: Materials and Methods.
- please send me a solutions manual for those chapters qestion in the in this book ( fundamentals of building construction ).please spon.
- I got this text for school, thinking it would be like all other texts and like pulling teeth to read.
I was very wrong, this is the first readable, detailed and clear Text I've come across.
The illustrations are on point and the real world like photos are great.
Although the book is quite large, it goes down rather easily.
- This is just like a brand new book but it takes while to deliver :)
- The price was excellent and the comments were accurate. The book is in excellent condition!
- Dear Sir or Madame,
I'm writing here but I already emailed to the Seller asking for a refund. Never received an answer. I bought the book to be used as a guide or reference during a twenty (20) days project that I already finished so I no longer need it.
If you could help me with this Seller I'll really appreciate.
Thanks,
Paulo Gomes

4 comments about Building Codes Illustrated: A Guide to Understanding the 2009 International Building Code.
- So far, so good ...is much easier to retain and understand than trying to read the International Building Code Book by itself.
- Any college-level architecture or construction library will find the 2009 edition of Building Codes Illustrated a fine guide to the 2009 International Building Code and its concepts. Builders, engineers, interior designers and any industry professional will find this packs in an illustrated, simple coverage of the code to enhance an actual copy of the code itself. From exit-access design requirements to ducts and air transfer openings, the visual drawings provide outstanding interpretation and access of the code's real-world applications in a solid reference for any college-level or professional builder's collection.
- The graphic diagrams are a real help in trying to visualize issues like egress. I refer my architecture school students to this book frequently when they need to get a quick understanding of life safety or accessibility issues related to their designs. This book is a real help for almost any architect whether they are at the beginning of their career or seasoned professionals looking for a refresher.
- Building codes Illustrated, while easy to comprehend, is an unnecessary "add-on" to any architectural library.
Better to own Architectural Graphic Standards and buy the Handbook of Universal Building codes as a supplement.

5 comments about Minimum Design Loads for Buildings And Other Structures: SEI/ASCE 7-05 (ASCE Standard No. 7-05) (ASCE Standard).
- It is a good book, reasonable price, fast shipping, and I got exactly what I needed.
- Manual is exactly what I wanted and need in my structural engineering work. I will continue to replace them as soon as they are obsoleted by IBC specifications.
- The product is a code for structural engineers. It is required by my work ..... whether I like it or not.
- Good book, easy to find what you're looking for. Unfortunately this book is kind of useless is some respects since the building code in the US follows the IBC.
- It is very good book and in very good physical condition. Paper quality is a kind of okay.

5 comments about Materials, Structures, and Standards: All the Details Architects Need to Know But Can Never Find.
- I bought this book last year when I started architecture grad school hoping it would be a one-stop resource for grad-level studio courses and it has been an OK resource. It is very well organized and covers a lot of basic, very handy, information: nominal material dimensions and standards, wood joinery, explains board feet and plywood grades, steel shapes in section & and how to interrupt what a W8x67 means, stair tread & risers guidelines, parking configurations, drawing set standards and abbreviations, and some detailing, code and structural basics. The problem for me is that I bought this book two years late, as I picked up a lot of this information the hard way in undergraduate school (B.S. architectural studies). I have now found myself using my classmate's copy of The Architect's Studio Companion (and have now bought myself a copy) more than this book as it covers structural, systems, and egress rules of thumb with much more depth.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone starting an undergrad architecture program or grad program w/o prior experience. There is a whole lot of good, basic architectural info in this book that will make life a little easier, but it lacks the depth to be a solid resource at a graduate level.
- I know it says all the details an "Architect" needs to know, but I'm studying Landscape Architecture and I had to buy my own copy because my Architecture neighbor was tired of retrieving her copy off of my desk.
- It is perfect for engineers who would like to add a little bit of architectural touch to their documentation.
- I came across this at a store one day, and I immediately bought it on the spot. Perhaps like me, you've been exposed to all those essential details of construction and detailing, but because you don't use them on a day-to-day basis, you've forgotten most of them. Or maybe you're a student that wants to absorb all the little details and bits of knowledge that Architects apply in their practice.
In the past, one would save these little tidbits in a sketchbook, or saved the information that manufacturers passed along in all those lunch presentations. Of course I still collect the information at those lunch presentations, but this book gathers all those little tidbits of pertinent information into a nicely presented book. It is a comprehensive collection of information with 3D drawings to help students (and young interns) understand what that 2D drafting object actually looks like.
This is a great item to have on your bookshelf, adjacent to your treasured Graphics Standards and/or Timesaver book(s). And the price here is 34% less than the face value that I paid for.
- I have been wondering why the A0,A1, and A2 paper size listed on page 52 did not jive with the Autocad prints I was compositing in Adobe InDesign. the metric dimensions listed that was using to make conversions were incorrect. Listed for A0 is 841 x 1198, it is actually 841 x 1189. A1 is listed as 610 x 914, it is actually 594 x 841. A2 is listed as 914 x 1219, is actually 420 x 594. WOW How could you mess this up??? This is a semi-easy mistake to spot if you are familiar with the standard sizes of paper.

5 comments about Architectural Graphic Standards, 11th Edition.
- Very Updated edition, it's a book of Substantial content of reference in design with approach to codes. Is the main core of reference that any designer or architect must have in his desk. Is Considered the first inversion For Many of us.
- I'm self-employed now and I needed my own copy, so I purchased the current edition. It is not at all familiar to me as I've used the older editions for a couple of decades now. I used to be able to flip through and find exactly what I needed. Now, I need to look through the index to get the info I need, it's a pretty radical restructure. That said, the information is laid out very well, and I would say that it is an improvement over the old at least in the details. It is still disappointing that it is such a chore to navigate. There is much new information, and I am pleased to see inclusion of green issues in a rigorous way.
- I had seen earlier editions of this publication and was impressed with the levels of detail and the wide ranging technical information enclosed. I have borrowed a copy on occasion to source specific information not covered by our regular building code information, and have successfully used it to show compliance and get a good working result. My only criticism would be that the later publication which relies on cumputer drawn images rather than the hand drafted drawings of the earlier version I was used to is not as easy to read, nevertheless I think it is a good tool for developing the technical aspects and detailing of a project. Well worth the purchase price.
Delivery time from the U.S. to New Zealand was also exceptional and publication arrived within one week and in good order
- I am a second year architect and have already used this book extensively. This definitive work has standards for everything; from elevators to gymnastics equipment-even the kitchen sink!
- The absolute authority on building standards. A "must have" for any serious home renovator. Fully illustrated and easy to comprehend.

1 comments about Building Code Basics: Residential: Based on 2009 International Residential Code.
- This book covers all of the basics you'll need to know from pouring a foundation to selecting tempered vs untempered glass near a doorway. Using easy to understand color pictures, this book makes the nearly indecipherable Residential Building Code quite palatable.

5 comments about Time-Saver Standards for Interior Design and Space Planning, 2nd Edition.
- This is a great reference book for designers and architects. It arrived very timely,in excellent conditions and I could not ask for a better price.
- This book is packed with info on furniture design, drafting tips, and use of theme for virtually every type of space. Perfect for students! Accompanied by plenty of illustrations to reference.
- This textbook was required for my Basic Drafting class. It was cheaper to go through Amazon than my school's bookstore. I recieved the textbook in great condition and in time for class to start. Very happy with this seller.
- HUGE ASSET! This book has everything in it and has been extremely helpful. It is a big book, therefore, it is not easy to carry around. I take it to school occasionally-I have chosen to lug it around in a rolling cart--most helpful for all those books and drawing tools, etc. One downside, sometimes the print is so small you may have to have a magnifying glass to see what is written.
Purchasing this book on Amazon saved me a lot of money. I highly recommend this book for Interior Design students and Designers.
- This book is a must for all in Interior Design.[[ASIN:0071346163 Time-Saver Standards for Interior Design and Space Planning, 2nd Edition]
It is very informative and best guide ever

5 comments about The Codes Guidebook for Interiors.
- The book came in great condition, I edge of the cover was bent, but could have easily happened during shipping.
- I guess there was a malfunction with something but I purchased the book then received an email saying that it was going to someone else. then received an email saying that it was being shipped. then received an email saying that it was not coming and my money was going to be given back to me.
- A must have for Interior Design Students. This book has been helpful to me so far in school.
- This book really helped make some of the tables in the IBC code book more understandable. However, some of the examples in the book lead to more confusion in class than they helped (mostly because the "mistakes" made were likely deliberate, but too little accompanying discussion was given to explain where the mistake was).
- The Codes Guidebook For Interiors is a comprehensive tool for Interior Designers in navigating the myriad of building interior codes and accessibility issues. Helpful illustrations and side notes make this well-written guide a "must-have" resource for Interior Designers.

5 comments about Human Dimension and Interior Space: A Source Book of Design Reference Standards.
- I didn't actually see the book. I bought it for my daughter who is in college and had it sent directly to her, but she said it was great! It was a good buy!
- I bought this book for school. It's redundant and some portions don't make much sense. But anyone trying to design a space that is functional and takes human size and shape into account should take a look at this book.
- Ideal for the Architect, Interior Designer, Furniture Maker and Cabinet Maker.
This book is a valuable resource to those that produce items for direct interface with human beings. It covers almost every type of human interaction that might need to be considered for the vast majority of common applications, as well as the direct human measurements that would need to be considered for the application. Measurement tables are well laid out and easy to use after a brief familiarization period, and the suggestions given for most applications is explained well enough that one can, with relative ease, apply the information to situations that may not be explicitly covered in the text of the book.
Measurements are given in both Metric and Imperial systems.
Diagrams are helpful for understanding the reasoning behind each measurement suggested.
If you need a general reference for direct human measurement and interaction with other people and objects, I would recommend this book.
- I am currently in design school and I will say that this is one book you will reference all the time and should be in everyone's library!
- As a new designer, I find this book very helpful and intriguing. It goes through the basic standards of human dimensions separating each chapter into antrhopometric dynamics and functions. Currently I'm in the Seating Measurement section and I had no idea about the amount of calculations involved in the act of sitting. Though this book was written in the 1970's, the information inside this book is still relevant for today. It's easy to grasp and it has many diagrams, tables, and figures to visually explain the content. Well organized book; very researched.
