- If you are an oil lamp lover / collector, this is a must have book ! Its actually a reproduction of the catalog of the British Oil Lamp Maker of late 19th, and early 20th Century , by the name of SHERWOODS LTD, Birmingham. Their Lamps were considered to be of very high quality and very very popular. Now, these lamps are very highly sought, and are extremely rare ! Sherwood's lamps get exceptionally high value.
The Catalog has 100s of designs of their various oil lamps : table , hanging , wall etc. The Catalog even has lots of illustrations of the Lamp Parts made by Sherwoods - like various burners, shades, bases , chimneys etc. The book, or catalog, has only sketched illustrations ( very neat and detailed ! ) of lamps and parts : there are no color or B&W photographs.
