1. This book tries to cover a lot of ground on a very broad and subtle topic. Unfortunately, no one can really become an expert on American Folk Art by simply reading this or any other book. The book does provide a good overview of the various collecting areas of American Folk Art and might be a good place to start for someone new to the field.

1. This auction catalog has the best variety of items from cowboys to cartoons, comedy to crime, creatures to classics, with your basic super heroes thrown in for good measure. It is by far one of the only books you can get that actually shows some of the most rare posters of the early 1900's. I was really impressed with the images and graphics reproduced in this issue. This catalog has all my favorites in it, especially the horror films. I also really liked the idea of seeing the lobby card images pictured on the same page as the Raven and the Black Cat. I would definitely recommend this book as a reference for anyone intersted in movie posters.

1. GREAT BOOK FOR COLLECTORS, MANY GREAT PICTURES AS WELL AS INFORMATION. I HAVE 1ST EDITION AND UPGRADED TO NEW EDITION. OUTSTANDING BOOK



2. As a historian and teacher, I often find original articles and photographs as the best teaching aids possible. Although traveling photographers often staged photos, they also used items of clothing and props associated with the times, thus providing a visual study of articles. Oral history is also at times incorrect since memories & viewpoints often aren't completely correct. But, once again the visual item helps determining truth from fiction. This book is an excellect and colorfull collection of garments, photos, postcards, etc. spanding many years of the cowgirl. Items are stated to be unknown if the author is in question of its actual origin. The photos are very clear and are an easy study and the information is very informative.
