1. Beautiful 240 page, hardbound library volume with laminated color covers. Contains more than 500 very large, full color, sharp life-like photos, each with the value (1995). Gorgeous photos of the trucks and in many cases, their original boxes. Major topics include Metalcraft, Smith-Miller, Buddy "L", Marx, North America, Europe, Japan and Asia, Modern Era / New Logo, Collectors' Editions, Racing Cars, Model Kits, Fantasy, Trains and Trolleys, and more. Model years run from 1931 to the 1980s. You'll find toy Coke trucks from all over the world. A very useful reference and a great volume to browse through.

1. This book contains some wonderful photography and estimates for trays in perfect mint condition. I was let down by the fact that not more trays were represented, and that no apparent scale of grading used trays is given. Also, I was disappointed that not more information was given on how to tell a really old tray from a reproduction. "If you like it buy it," is just not enough of an answer for a serious collector.



2. I recently purchased and read this book. The photography was excellent. There was only one page where the description of the trays were inverted. The layout was done very well. Any and all Coca-Cola memorabilia collectors should get and read this book and keep it around when they go on their many tray hunts. Enjoy!!!

1. A brand new book containing more than 600 large, sharp, black and white photos and a gorgeous 16 page full color section. There's plenty of background information provided, in addition to the current pricing. Topics range from A & P, Adams Gum, Anheuser-Busch, to International Harvester, John Deere, Ken-L, to Z.B.T., and Zeno Gum. This is a good general reference work for the advertising collector, covering more than 5,000 listings. A very complete index, makes item location easy. The advertising collector will refer to this up-do-date volume often.

1. If you are shopping for one reference book on advertising figures, search no further. Advertising Character Collectibles is the ideal book for beginning collectors and advanced collectors alike.The items pictured in this volume are a realistic cross section of what is available in this genre.The high end, nearly one of a kind pieces are here right beside the common for Dotz shows no bias.Though it has been more than three years since the price guide was updated, the majority of the listings reflect current market value.This is the book most collectors use as a blueprint for assembling their own collections and I would know- As publisher of a monthly newsletter on advertising characters, I am in contact with hundreds of collectors on an ongoing basis.Advertising Character Collectibles is the book most often referred to- It is our bible.



2. This edition of the 160 page book was updated to include 1997 values. It contains over 400 very large, sharp, full color photos. Major headings cover from Restaurants and Fast Foods, Breakfast Cereals, Beverages, Automotive, Appliances Drugstore and Cosmetics to Travel and Entertainment and Tobacco Products. In addition to the many photos, the book contains sufficient interesting background information. Well indexed. If you collect these items, you'll enjoy the volume.

1. As with all the other Antique Trader (AT) reference guides I've used, this one is a good, basic primer for the subject. Unfortunately, as with all AT guides, the lack of an index makes it tedious to search for specific items. It also tends, like all the other general AT guides, to attempt to include too many categories at the expense of including an adequate sample of items within each category. However, if this book happens to have just the item you're looking for, the photos and descriptions are well-done and the prices are reasonably accurate. Basically, it's a good general guide for someone who is attempting to gauge the general value of advertising items, but don't buy it with the express hope of finding a specific item.

1. How refreshing to see a beautifully produced collector's book. From my experience publishers that cover this market don't seem to bother with book design, strange really because it costs no more to design well as badly.
   
   This lovely book has hundreds of Coke Santas all presented as cutouts with a drop shadow on every picture to give the impression that they are floating on the page.
   
   Haddon Sundblom created the Coke Santa and every one is included, pages eighteen to forty-two show his paintings from 1932 to 1964, also including the variations he did for some years. The rest of the book has examples of how his work (and others) was used to sell the drink each Christmas season. Chapters are devoted to store cardboard cutouts, advertising, calendars, figurines, dolls and finally miscellaneous Santa collectibles. All the pictures have captions, with a date and a dollar value. Amazingly some of the store free-standing cutouts from the thirties are valued up to $1500, not surprising I guess because how many managers would bother keeping a piece of cardboard promoting a fizzy drink for Christmas.
   
   This book is much better than a previous one I reviewed, 'Dream of Santa' by Barbara Charles, it featured the work of Sundblom and had a well printed picture for each year (except 1941, 57 and 63) but no other advertising material.
   
   If you collect Coke Santas or just like to look at the great man you will enjoy this book.
