Stealing Books-A Bookscout's Guide To Book Collecting

Chapter 7 - Selling Your Books (continued)

When you have alot of books that wont sell on Amazon, because there are a ton of book listed for a penny each, something that you can do is box them up by genre such as box of mystery, a box of science fiction, a box of literature, a box of biography, etc. Just fill a box with with books. I commonly use the boxes that printer paper comes in, and these when filled with paperback books will usually weigh 25 to 30 pounds. List them on ebay as a box lot. Maybe give the title of the auction as something like "Huge lot of 57 science fiction paperbacks" or "Huge lot of 70 vintage mystery books". Then in the auction description list the contents of the box, giving the title and author of each book.

John Grisham-The Firm
John Grisham-A Time To Kill
John Grisham-The Partner
Tom Clancy-Hunt For Red October
Tom Clancy-Patriot Games
Robin Cook-Coma
Robin Cook-Sphinx

Boxes like these may sell for $10 or $20 depedning on the contents of the box, and what buyers find your auction. If you have alot of a particular author that is popular but not overly saturated such as John D. McDonald or Piers Anthony, you can make a box lots of these and do very well. You can also put together a box of books that go togther such as a box lot of James Bond books, even though they are by different authors, they go together.
